I used a proper fondue cheese recipe and for the chocolate I used a special ordered dark chocolate prepared specifically for fondue and fountains

The candle does a good job at keeping the cheese warm, and you even get la religieuse on the bottom of the pot

Tea light does keep cheese warm.

I would let it sit on the flame for too long, mix it and move it next to the base then put it back when cheese gets harder

You will need to stir often and get to the bottom for the hottest cheese.
