Gives you the classic overdriven sound you are looking for while letting the tone of your guitar come through
-
But the advantage the OD-3 has is a greater range of timbre than most warm-sounding overdrives
-
I've always wanted to get the Boss OD-2 because it has such a great and controllable classic natural sounding
-
The sound was great.

Very fat crunch and and warm sounding (in a good way)

This is about as versatile and magical as an overdrive sound as I'd expected
-
I only use about 6 pedals and I like to be able to know them all well enough to dial in my favorite sounds quickly
-
Over all, I find this pedal to produce a nice, warm and fairly natural overdrive sound
-
I like mids in my sound but not the kind the tube screamer had, it just was harsh sounding compared to this
-
BD-2 (which is more aggressive sounding, and a bit too 'bright'/'tinny') and the BOSS SD-1 (which doesn't offer near as much bass, and is a much more noisy pedal)

As a set it and leave it OD, in front of a clean sound you are happy with, you can get a big range of tones by using your guitars controls (volume/pickup selector/tone etc)
