This is a great sounding overdrive on its own - very smooth and creamy sounding overdriven tone, great for all kinds of classic rock

I have about 5 differrent OD pedals, all have some likeable qualities, but I think the Super Overdrive is the pedal I was looking for

The SD-1 is a staple in my effects chain - there are overdrive pedals on the market that have a wider range of sounds if you are able to afford paying $200-$300, but if you're looking for a warm overdrive while using clean channels or just wanting to add a bit more crunch to your already overdriven amp the SD-1 is a great choice.

The overdrive is smooth and round not too shrill or harsh

As a stand alone overdrive, I prefer other pedals.

It's got that classic warm overdrive tone and very versatile from playing clean/slight breakup to more thick and in-your face.

With this pedal/amp configuration I can dial in thick, warm overdrive, or a more transparent, delicate clean sound with a little bite

I've been a pro guitarist for over 20 years, and while I have dozens of really awesome overdrives, I still tend to use the SD-1 the most.

I recommend it to anyone who wants to play the smooth overdrive of Santana or likewise (you may need to add reverb and Echo ;))

Single coils will respond much differently, producing a cleaner, transparent overdrive in the low to mid gain setting.
