    Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive

    • This is a great sounding overdrive on its own - very smooth and creamy sounding overdriven tone, great for all kinds of classic rock
    • Love the sound
    • Both sound good, though, not surprisingly, you get a heavier punch with a humbucker
    • (Vox AC10 clone) and even though I know that this is MEANT to overdrive a lower volume tube amp, I just don't like the sound
    • Great sound, no POP when you click it on.
    • With this pedal/amp configuration I can dial in thick, warm overdrive, or a more transparent, delicate clean sound with a little bite
    • It looks very simple with only three knobs, but you can get some good sounds out of this simple-looking box
    • This pedal goes from a slight gain to almost a crunch or classic rock sound.
    • It's built like a tank, sounds great, and will outlive your grandchildren
    • Good pedal, good price, great sound
    • its good for a distortion booster more than the overdrive itself but still it can give you a warm sound in the overdrive or a harsh crispy sound just by turning the knobs in different ways....
    • This is a fantastic sounding overdrive pedal.
    • Warm, buttery, and aggressive-sounding overdrive, if needed
    • Good quality, good sound, doesn't color my amp when disengaged
    • These new ones sound smothered and artificial
    • Good quality sound and nothing to disappoint

    • I'm using it with a valve amplifier from the 60's and the sound of the distortion is very rough and very authentic, I really like it.
    • The OD sounds great through Fender clean tubes and I also tried it with a bass guitar
    • I actually prefer the sound on this pedal to the Tubescreamer as this Boss pedal sounds a little harder edged and nastier than the Tubescreamer in my opinion
    • Very good construction and great sound.
    • I just don't like the sound
    • Perfect sound for how I play
    • I've purchased several Electo-Harmonix pedals and, while they have great sound and are made very well, when they are engaged, they make a very loud "CLICK" sound...not so great when you are at a quiet part of a song and want to prepare for an upcoming change in tone/sound and a "CLICK
    • Fantastic sound and everything I wanted.
    • I had given this a bad review previously but after investigating the pedal found out it was shorting out and a simple peace of cardboard put between the back plate and the main board fixed the issue also greatly improved the sound

    • It requires a bit of fiddling around to get the right sound you want, but I think that's a good thing since it lets you try out different settings
