Bowers & Wilkins PX Active Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones, Best-in-class Sound, Soft Gold

    • but I can say it’s about 70% maybe to 80% as good as Bose and Sony.
    • Note that I have the well regarded Sony 1000x wireless ANC headphones sitting right here to compare with the PX
    • People are correct, the noise cancelling is not as good as the Bose or the Sony, but they are SO much superior in sound quality and materials
    • Sony is like the desktop system that I play through out the day when I work
    • The top three (Bose, Sony, and B&W) are so close to each
    • Comfort wise, these are not as good as the QC35 series or the Sony WH-1000Xm2
    • Sony and Bose rivalling levels of noise cancellation would be welcomed
    • In my noisy hip-hop blasting UFC Gym, the Bach Cello Suites were practically unlistenable (earbuds with Comply foam tips would have been more preferable.)Sony still sounds like #1 above.
    • Sony sounds very clear and detailed also, but vis-a-vis the PX I wouldn't describe it as a 'rich' sound; in fact it's a dryer sound with somewhat tinny mids and highs (especially apparent in big orchestral or choral crescendos).
    • Not on the same level as Sony & Bose, but better than Sennheiser HD1 & B&O H9
    • My original 1000X's right arm developed a crack and eventually snapped right off and despite claims online that Sony has addressed the issue with a different type of plastic on the 1000XM2's, the plastic doesn't seem sturdy enough or reinforced enough to support the loads at the joints where the cracking happens (just compare the hinge joints and arms of the Bose Quiet Comfort II's to see what "confidence-inspiring" plastic looks and feels
    • The ANC is adequate for all environments albeit not as good as Sony or Bose, comfort is
    • Noise cancelling, though excellent and gets the job done, is not as good as Bose or Sony
    • Not as effective as Bose or Sony when it comes to silencing chatter or tv, but is excellent at drowning out the 'white noise' of travel
    • I don’t want to suggest it was boring, just not as good as the 550’s or PX’s
    • Love the PX’s for day at work
    • Heavy headphones and the sound just wasn't what I was looking for--it just wasn't "expansive like the B&O beoplay headphones; although the noise cancelling feature is better than the B&Os, so there's that to consider; however, the sound quality in noise cancelling mode isn't as good as the B&O Beoplays, so that's an issue too.
    • (the B&O are a little too loose
    • I tested them for several weeks with a range of music from contemporary jazz (Gregory Porter, Carmen Lundy), metal (Metallica, Type O Negative), shoegaze (My Bloody Valentine), post-punk (XTC), etc.
