Would highly recommend to anyone who is tired of expensive ink cartridges that die with infrequent use.

Everyone who has ever had a laser printer knows that when the pages start to get streaky, you can take the cartridge out, shake it, and get a few more pages.

Going with the laser seemed like a better option than an ink jet that probably would loose cartridges from not using it that much

I got mad every time I had to buy an overpriced inkjet cartridge, and the final straw was when I was going to have to pay $50 for a color cartridge even though I only use black and white (my HP printer required both cartridges).

The ink is easy to change out and I've found several low cost options at Amazon that work as well as the "official" ink cartridges.

I tried the old school trick of removing the cartridge and shaking it to an fro to redistribute the toner, but no go.

The old cartridge still worked when we replaced it with the new one.

If you change the cartridge when you get the pop-up you will waste a few hundred copies and the cartridges are expensive

The cost per page is great as the cartridges are much cheaper these days

Those Brother cartridges are expensive, but there are plenty of 3rd party cartridges available, but I have not tried any yet to see if they work as well as the Brother branded cartridges.

ADD A FRESH TONER CARTRIDGE

If any of you are still using inkjet printers, you might want to consider switching to something like this - no messy and/or dried out cartridges to constantly replace, better resolution, and most lasers cost about the same price.

It is not color printer but after the head ache of having to always dealing with expensive "expired" color ink jet cartridges preventing the printing black and white, I will happily forgo printing in color.
