Sorry Brother, I thought I was getting one of the best printers in my price range.

I’ve always liked Brother and the printers last

I ran through the steps on the Brother site and nothing worked

I loved my first $125 Brother... and this one appears to be settling in to a long stretch in my office.

After wasting hours looking up youtube videos on how to fix the problem and spending hours online with Brother support team, they deemed my printer officially "broken" and mailed me a new one.

I purchased my Brother MFC-J880DW in December 2015 and it worked really good till a few months ago.

The Brother is a little slower, but print quality is comparable and the much smaller footprint is a major bonus for my home office.

Brother is the best on printers for office or home, I always recommend this brand, better than other brands as HP o Epson

My reason for purchasing is that it's compact and Brother has a reputation for low print costs.

The Brother has free support for the life of the printer

I despise HP printers for using up so much ink but what Brother did was simply merciless

I did try a test print to my old printer wirelessly and the output was only slightly better than this Brother so the compromised printing output could be a function of printing wirelessly or the need for a better print driver from Acer

At least you can buy generic ink instead of expensive Brother.

Of course Brother blamed it on the cable company and the cable company blamed it on the printer manufacturer.

I had originally written a favorable review, however, I can no longer say that this Brother MFC-J880DW is favored

Laptop had no CD drive, and I blame Windows for the difficulty of locating the proper control panel, not Brother

I was later disappointed to find out that although the Brother is capable of printing out several paper sizes, it cannot print on postcards.

As my 4th Brother Printer I like the fact that thee ink lasts longer

Also, be warned, if you don't buy genuine Brother cartridges, they will blame the cartridge.

I'd highly recommend this printer and Brother in general.

This Brother is an extremely easy to set up for wireless connections.

And for extra fun, the programs will not show up on your uninstall list if you want to try to reinstall the lousy Brother malware included with your "All In One" printer

I'm used to Canon models recently, and the Brother seemed less refined.

The Brother MFC-J895DW is easy to install and super convenient to use wirelessly.

So there are places the brother is better

I own other Brother products which I really like but never again would I buy a Brother printer

On the downside a search revealed no aftermarket ink cartridges yet so for now to keep it fed one must purchase much more expensive Brother Cartridges .

That said, I believe that all of theese companies are taking advantae of trhe consumer, but at this point in time, it is true that Brother is not only no worse, but better than most of their competitors in that regard, only because both Canon an Epson have raised the price of their cartridges to an absurd level

This leads me to think that Brother actual makes terrible, and faulty ink cartridges in addition to printers that eat up ink, and wont let you print with absolutely full ink cartridges

Excellent B/W, good color copies

Once again, if you want seriously good B&W photos, you need a printer with a dedicated black photo cartridge and a separate gray cartridge.
