    • I am always careful to follow the instructions given like keeping the flame under the glass bottom and keeping the handle and top away from the flame
    • I gave 4 stars for heat resistance because the handle gets hot enough that I have to use a towel to remove it from the heat source
    • This means one has to be extremely careful about the flame height otherwise the handle will become too hot to hold.
    • Firstly the handle gets very hot when
    • My only problem is the handle gets really hot.
    • Other reviews complained about a hot handle, difficult top, long time to boil
    • Also the handle gets hot and you need to have an oven mitt on to hold it.
    • And finally, the handle gets hot
    • The handle on the cap is now broken, too, snapped when lifted by the handle when hot
    • Even when the water is boiling hot the handle is not too hot to pick the kettle up without a pot holder.
    • Dislike that the handle and top get quite hot
    • The handle heats up as the water boils
    • but the handle gets too hot when heating the water
    • I do wish the top and handle were more substantial in feel and wonder why a sturdier or metal handle could not be used if it even increased the cost - certainly it could not be that substantial?
    • We needed a larger size kettle with a cool handle and this is perfect for us.
    • The handle is a bit weak
    • And easy to clean...however the reason for the 3 * review:The handle does get hot, too hot to hold saftly, holding with a mitt make it harder to hold on to without dropping
    • My handle does not get hot
    • The handle is extremely hot as is the cover which you have to take off to pour.
    • works great - handle can get hot when using gas, but you know what to expect.
    • The handle on this product gets scalding hot, which completely defeats the point of a tea kettle
    • The only issue I have with the product is that the handle can sometimes get too hot to touch, so make sure you have a pot holder ready to go.
    • The handle became a little warm, but the handle on my old tea pot did as well
    • The handle is hotter than hades when you go to get it off the stove
    • The BIG problem is the handle
    • The handle gets very warm after some time on the burner, and it can be a pain to pop off the lid when you want to pour
    • the handle on the pot seems actually hotter than the lid yet the lid is the only thing that melted.
    • The handle gets hot too
    • The handle does not get too hot to handle
    • The problem is the handle is plastic and so is the topand by the time it whistles the handle is scorching hot
    • It’s nice but the handle gets really hot
    • The handle gets VERY HOT, always having to use oven mittens to pour.
    • When the kettle is full, the handle tends to buckle.
    • Even when the water is boiling hot the handle is not too hot to pick the kettle up without a pot holder.
    • Always use this brand "Duran from Germany" thick glass, strong handle,etc...
    • One is that the handle is too hot to hold by the time the water reaches a boil
    • Not so great on the electrical as the handle gets too warm
    • The handle gets hot so you have to wear a glove or wait a bit before you grab the handle.
    • While it is a cute design kettle, and comfortable to use, the handle is literally impossible to touch right after the water boils
    • You do not boil anything that is not water in there, you absolutely do not boil in high heat (it will melt the handle--as some people mentioned it happened to them), you need to boil in medium heat, the handle does not get hot so you can pour water into your cup right after it boils
    • Top needs to be removed (very difficult - worse when Hot) and Hot Handle!
    • Cool handle was one of the important factors in purchasing this kettle, so I am pretty disappointed.
    • Not because the handle gets too hot (though it does), but rather because the plastic whistling cap isn't heat resistant and will melt
    • The only downsides are the handle gets really hot and it's kind of difficult to clean, but it does the job for the price.
    • If you use the kettle on the smaller eyes of the stove the handle doesn’t get as hot but if you use the kettle on an eye that is bigger around then the bottom of the kettle, the HANDLE GETS EXTREMELY HOT and you have to use an oven glove/mitt to move it and pour the water out.
    • The handle seems fine if you make sure it is not near the heat
    • Top needs to be removed (very difficult - worse when Hot) and Hot Handle!
    • Also, the handle does NOT get hot at all.
    • The handle gets hot
    • Only 1 problem - top handle melting, even replacement melted too.
    • I've had this tea kettle for a while now (probably a couple years) and the handle always got SO hot
    • When heating water, the handle becomes dangerously hot
    • This looks cool - but the design is horrible; the handle is always hot (hard to grab) but worst is the lid...
    • the kettle is great, the handle has chipped in several spots on the handle, right around the hole that that houses the screw that attaches the handle to the glass, the manufacturer's response was that they would replace it and we have to pay the freight, this gives them a poor rating on their customer service and i will not ever recommend themthey must have heard problems from other purchasers in regard to the defective handles, there are other companies that sell the same product i would advise you purchase from a different seller !
    • The handle does not get hot
    • The lid becomes gooey - The handles hot - till it started melting at the bends
    • Nice product , reason I purchased was because I wanted a non-metal kettle for health reasons however the handle is defective, upon lifting the pot with about 24 oz of hot water inside , it gave in as I lifted and my knuckles pressed against hot surface of the glass
    • I like the whistle as a
    • Takes a while to boil water as you can only use medium heat on smallest burner.
    • The only thing to look out for is to not place your hand over the little hole on the top when it's boiling as it burns!
    • however I would suggest the range grates be free from defects as not to scratch the glass
