One month after having bought it, the lid melted when I was boiling some water

I've not had any trouble with the handle melting, nor the lid until I boiled it dry

I'm not exaggerating when I say the problem with the tight fitting lid was such an annoying and frustrating problem, that I decided not to use the lid when boiling water

Ive bought this couple times now, some because of moving and others because the top lid melted

First of all, shortly after using it, the lid MELTED and warped around the edges, making it so it never really fit well, having to remove the lid before pouring boiling water.

More importantly, the lid can become quite hot so removing before pouring has to be done gingerly.

Also, I do not like the lid

The lid is hard to remove and you have to remove it to pour water out.

The "flip-top" whistling lid is easy to use.

The lid whistles loud enough to hear in the next room though might not be loud enough if there were a lot of background noise or if one is hard of hearing.
