I'm a long time user of DeToxIt and it does an excellent job cleaning and lubricating carbon and wire wound controls.

Appears to do a good job of cleaning up dirty contacts.

This is the go to contact cleaner and rca metal enhancer, conditioner for any and all audiophiles and laymen alike, great price too.

Best used with Q-TIPS (cotton buds), and remove the cotton part (by cutting it off at both ends, and then only using the tube as a dropper (straw-like) instead, and then discard when done - no contamination.

I've been using CAIG products on audio equipment for decades and I love all of them.

For metal to metal electronic connections, contacts, older solder jobs or indeed even commercial entity applied solder that came with the unit [whatever], time and atmospheric/climatic changes [change of seasons] can cause oxidation or important solder connections being compromised due to time [or humidity issues in basement areas] where Deoxit can remedy that and clean them up and that includes computer innards like the motherboard, etc

I researched the Bimmerfest forums and found that DeoxIT was recommended to remove corrosion and improve connectivity.

I resorted to using some Peek fine metal polishing cream which worked like a champ in removing the oxidation and leaving the connections with a nice clean and shiny surface.

I needed to use the guitar before the replacement cable arrived, so I applied Deoxit to to the connections on the cable, and it restored the cable to a perfect working condition

If you need a contact cleaner that won't damage plastic this is working really well.

I've only used this on one application so far, and it has worked great.

However there are some DeoxIT applications where the spray can is wasteful overkill and besides this small container is easy to keep on my desk when I am working small items, and very handy to carry in my pocket when I visit one of the boys to look at their motorcycle issues.

The temporary fix would be to remove the electrical connection, spray it with electrical cleaner, and re-install, which would buy me a few weeks of trouble free lighting until the problem returned.

With this, the light has been working perfectly, at least until now (1 month later).

Put some on the batteries in a flashlight and the light is brighter (Honestly!).

Another great product for cleaning and lubricating electrical switches and contacts [I use it on my motorcycle and my 3 wheeled 1800cc Goldwing trike] is QD Electronic Cleaner made by CRC and sold at Amazon

Works great at cleaning switches and key contacts on vintage synthesizers.

I've used Deoxit for years and I'm still amazed every time I apply it.

The first time I used it I dropped it and lost all of the contents when it broke.

One thing to remember -- give the stuff a reasonable time to work

You'll have a hard time finding any contact cleaner that is better.

Time will tell whether it protects it effectively in this harsh environment ...
