This scanner features "Hi-Speed USB", the fastest version of USB 2.0 (USB 3.0 is known as "Super-Speed") and "fast" is the operative word: This scanner literally sucks the image right off the page

Whereas before the images might have been suitable for 4x6 prints, the new ones can easily be blown up to at least 8x10.

I have it set to automatically split images up that are on the glass, so I can scan 3-6 at a time, depending on size

This Canon is supposed to be of much high resolution; yet, the images are much more grainy, EVEN with fine-tuning, say using Adobe Elements software.

During the last use, I scanned 4 photos at once and, for the first time, these were viewable images, not PDFs!

All images near the borders of the platen necessarily come out a little unclear, because the paper cannot be in direct contact with the glass at that point

After scanning is done, the software will split the image into multiple photos automatically so you don't have to worry about that aspect

To scan at 1200dpi, you need to use the ScanGear which scan very slow and doesn't split multiple images to separated files

One deficiency is the strength of the platten––it has limitations as to the weight of a book that one may want to scan.

I like the size and light weight of this scanner as well as that it doesn't need a separate power cord

However, this version of the software is not so bad as to make it unusable
