Canon CanoScan LiDE220 Photo and Document Scanner

    • I wasn't expecting super high quality scans, but this is just bad
    • Takes great scans of photos and documents and operates very quickly
    • I have used scanners for decades and this scanner produces the worst scans I have ever seen hands down
    • My first scan auto cropped, nice
    • Good quality scans and easy to use!
    • It would halt mid scanning, fail when connecting over USB, none of the quick keys worked, etc
    • I've scanned about 200 old family photos so far and a few hundred documents, and the scanner has been very easy to work with, scans quickly, and makes excellent quality scans.
    • This is an inexpensive scanner that will do a fine job scanning photos and documents for electronic storage
    • A bit tedious, but not too bad in terms of getting the right settings to yield a good scan
    • Do not expect the scans to look as good as the originals...and that's bad when the originals are old and poor
    • Fast scanning, works perfect for digitizing old phtos
    • There are aspects of the Epson that I prefer over the Canon, but until Epson fixes their software, I suspect I'll be using the Canon for most of this project, unless I need the Epson's negative scanning feature.
    • I re-scanned some photos I had scanned some year ago, and the new scans are a vast improvement in detail
    • Switched from other brands that were unreliable and of poor scanning quality (one cost over $1,000)
    • For fast, quality scans (and an affordable price) the Canon LiDE220 scanner is one of the best!
    • The scans are very good and fast.
    • I was replacing an LIDE 700F scanner which had incredible optical scan capabilities... that I seldom made full use of.
    • Enjoyed scanning for the first time, read no instructions
    • Very good scanning quality.
    • Nice size, pretty fast scanning
    • It is incredibly light-weight and the software that comes with it makes scanning simple, easy, and fast
    • Great scanning capability with some basic editing tools, as well.
    • I tried to ignore this my first few scans
    • Great scanning capability with some basic editing tools, as well.
    • If you're looking for a generic easy scan with default settings, I would stick with a cheaper model.
    • It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the $400 dollar ones but makes good scans and copies.
    • As a former professional photographer, I think that 300 dpi JPEG scans are perfectly adequate for photo scans and the scans are plenty fast (about 10-15 seconds).
    • Very fast scans, works great with Xsane.
    • The premise of the device is good: fast scanning and good quality.
    • The replacement for the 220 (the first was bad out of the box) did maybe 10 scans before jamming and failing to work.
    • It quickly creates sharp, high-quality scans
    • Even if the paper is raised up a bit, (slightly wrinkled paper), the scan in that area will turn out blur
    • It is compact, software loaded in minutes and it has been spitting out clear crisp scans at a good pace
    • The worst, however, is that after 4 or 5 scans, the machine starts 'stuttering' requiring constant re-scanning of images
    • I did get good scans from artwork rendered in pencil
    • When this product scans, it works great
    • I've used mine for scanning already low-quality family photos from the 50s and 60s as well as scanning a mountain a documents before sending them to the shredder to keep my place tidy
    • Endless scanning errors.
    • At other times, it would start scanning and then freeze.
    • Makes good scans of documents, which is all I've used it for so far
    • Software wise the IJ Scan Utility and Quick Menu software replace the MP Navigator
    • This is far from the first scanner I have ever purchased, in some ways the scans were attractive, but if it is unable to scan white, it is not for me.
    • Gets it's power from the USB port and provides very fast scans both for printed material and photos
    • If you want to scan books and or convert text using OCR you need very clean scans with no shadowing in the center margin
    • It's fine and the scans are fine, but there have to be much better options out there.
    • Now 10 months after not using it at all, my scans won't be proper
    • I have managed to accomplish 20 times more scanning than with my printer/copier/scanner which is wonderful since I am trying to safe guard as many pictures of my family and our ancestors as possible before time compromises them.
    • The scanning was also quieter than the multifunction copiers.5
    • Fully automatic, highly readable, and fast scans
    • I don’t want a current scan date and file number added to an old pix date.
    • Decent watercolor scans, I guess they're good enough for my etsy listings and just to go back and look at old art (the scans are better than trying to take good photos), but they're not good enough for me to try to print
    • I needed to scan a lot of photos in a short period of time & this scanner delivered quick performance & good quality scans.
    • My main reason for buying this scanner is its 100% compatibility with the Linux sane scanning system
    • It's pretty quick, but hoping that a faster scan motor and a USB3 interface can make it even faster.
    • As far as I can tell, the scans look just like the artwork in person (after minor color adjustments)
    • Worked right out of the box with Windows 8.1 Decent quality scans for documents.
    • The scans look great and I was up and running in just a few minutes.
    • I only want fast black and white pdf scans for record keeping so I will not comment on quality or color, I have not experimented with any other settings because I don’t need them for my purposes
    • The scans that I've done are clear, and while colors seem a little brighter, they're not absurdly so - it seems that blue ink always looks brighter in a scan, using every scanner I've ever owned, than it does in person.
    • This low cost scanner provides surprisingly fast high quality scans
    • Good quality and quick scans.
    • Light, easy to set up and great high res scans
    • I get crisp, clean watercolor scans
    • It was easy to set up and produces clear scans.
    • Very portable and excellent scans
    • Very fast, excellent quality scans
    • Fast and good quality scans and copy, easy to install and work with
    • For many people, this product is a fantastic scanning solution
    • The only scan I got on my computer screen was better than the original
    • I tested it with the free scanning software included in IrfanView and it worked fine
    • The bad: this will not make acceptable scans of pictures
    • Plugged it to a PC running Windows 10 Preview, downloaded the software from the Canon website, perfect scans
    • Very quick and easy to set-up, takes good quality scans and at high resolution (if desired.)Some drawbacks include occasional difficulty with scanning specific color grades (neon/bright colors seem to be problematic, but this is uncommon), and the software it comes with isn't the greatest (if unsatisfactory, get VueScan or another software package).
    • Set up was easy and the scans came out crisp and clear.
    • I use it at home and for business trips where I need to make good clean scans of documents when a photo will not suffice.
    • I use it at home and for business trips where I need to make good clean scans of documents when a photo will not suffice.
    • Canon CanoScan LiDE220 Photo and Document.is super value at its price for its excellent quality scanning
    • While the fast and high-quality scanning are the best aspects of this product, the svelte footprint isn't far behind
    • I routinely need to scan legal (8.5” x 14”) documents and the “stitch” function is cumbersome for this purpose – producing far less than accurate scans.
    • The machine itself seems solid and delivers pretty good photo scans.
    • This scanner does a great job scanning, but it has no power button.
    • Seems to generate good quality image scans at the advertised resolutions
    • I was impressed how fast the scanning was.4
    • Makes sharp, true color scans at an astonishing
    • Does a good job scanning and is easy
    • Easy to hook up to computer, easy to use, good quality scans
    • Aside from these functions the scanner is appealing in design, produces great quality scans, is very light, doesn't need much space, is directly connected to your computer (no seperate power cable), and it is very easy to use
    • One deficiency is the strength of the platten––it has limitations as to the weight of a book that one may want to scan.
    • I like the size and light weight of this scanner as well as that it doesn't need a separate power cord
    • However, this version of the software is not so bad as to make it unusable
