Canon CanoScan LiDE220 Photo and Document Scanner

    • The software is absolute junk and doesn't work with Windows 10
    • I like the software that came with the scanner.
    • First, the software in the 220 is not as intuitive and took more clicks to accomplish the same tasks.
    • Your own software for working with scanned images is better.
    • The included software is the worst-designed bunch of nonsense I've ever seen, and I recommend using any random generic scan manager over the included software
    • Software is fine too and it automatically set up the PDF button.
    • Scanner Good, Software did not work.
    • Great machine - crappy software and instructions.
    • It worked as expected, although I would have appreciated some more advanced accompanying software.
    • Another strong criticism, is the lousy software
    • The enclosed software works well for photos and single sheet scanning
    • The enclosed software works well for photos and single sheet scanning
    • Available software is easy to use and modify for different image quality.
    • That's not too bad, however I didn't find this software via canon help tools preinstalled with the driver; I looked it up online
    • Problem is that the software is funky and not easy to set up and use
    • I wish the software package was better and/or a discount to get a better 3rd party scanner software
    • However, the included software is very limiting.
    • Purchased Canon again because I liked the easy software menu, but they unnecessarily made complicated in the newer version
    • I deleted the three or four bloatware programs and only installed the basic scan software and it works awesomely
    • I wish Canon would develop MAC- compatible software for this scanner.
    • I downloaded the latest available software and drivers from Canon's website.
    • I liked the 110's software better but wouldn't work on the 220
    • Also, provided software didn't offer common-sense features I expected, like a preview mode.
    • After scanning is done, the software will split the image into multiple photos automatically so you don't have to worry about that aspect
    • Software wise the IJ Scan Utility and Quick Menu software replace the MP Navigator
    • Moving the files to trash, emptying Trash and rebooting fixes Touch ID.Just beware, i typically install, scan what i need to scan, and trash the software.
    • The software that comes with it isn't horrible, and it is reliable
    • Another strong criticism, is the lousy software
    • Great machine - crappy software and instructions.
    • The software is pretty crappy if you ask
    • Very quick and easy to set-up, takes good quality scans and at high resolution (if desired.)Some drawbacks include occasional difficulty with scanning specific color grades (neon/bright colors seem to be problematic, but this is uncommon), and the software it comes with isn't the greatest (if unsatisfactory, get VueScan or another software package).
    • Poor software
    • good software.
    • Software is easy to setup and useI don't know if this is any better or worse than other scanners as it has been years since I used one , but it is a huge improvement on the old ones I used to use where it would take forever
    • I like the quality of the scans, but there seems to be a driver error/software error with the scanner
    • Their software works great and integrates into Photoshop
    • Their software works great and integrates into Photoshop
    • It DOES deliver on that promise; however, the software is very buggy and doesn't work properly, causing the unit to become more of a burden than a saving grace in only a week
    • The software is not as user friendly as the older model LiDE 210
    • Quality of the scan is very good and the software is easy to use
    • the problem is with the stupid software
    • The trouble is the software
    • Very obnoxious, and not acceptable here in 2015.The front buttons don't work either, even if you set them up with Canon's supplied software
    • Like WTF, how do you even develop software that breaks Touch ID
    • The software could use some refinements and expanded options
    • Works great, and the software is easy to use.
    • It doesn't do a full platen at all, hanging the scanner software
    • Software is a little strange but I am getting used to it.
    • Software could be improved like their first lide software which was easier to use and less complicated/convoluted
    • This is a very competent scanner when the software allows it to work, which is about half the time
    • The scanner is great but the new software is not as user friendly as my LiDE 80 scanner
    • I gave it 4 stars only because I prefer the software that was used with my old scanner
    • aware great scanner really really junky support software.....oops.. update you need to read the instruction manual in detail to find out how to make this do a simple Tiff or jpeg scan... so it can do it... it is not in their quick launch stuff
    • MAC BOOK PRO 2016 with TOUCH ID:Latest software (on their website dated 11/30/16), breaks all Touch ID functionality
    • To get it working on Linux Mint 17 took some Googling and installation of additional SANE software
    • Complicated, confusing, cumbersome, tedious, software
    • I found the software intuitive, flexible and easy to work with
    • I like the software.
    • The previous software seemed more intuitive
    • Love the software and the PDF buttons on the front!
    • The scanner itself is good but software is awful
    • Regardless of how well the hardware works, you have to use the horrible Image Garden software that Canon provides
    • The software is very un-intuitive
    • The software adds a number of nice features compared to what I'd been using--all things which improve the output and make the scanner even easier to use.
    • These work good and the best feature I like is the software
    • These work good and the best feature I like is the software
    • Scanner is OK, works well and is sort of fast, but the software that it comes with is just plain crap
    • Software is easy to use and works with Windows 10.
    • The software works well on a Mac.
    • The software works well on a Mac.
    • Be very careful installing the proprietary software and do not install Easy Capture Manager as it will take over your PC and it took me three different PC techs to get rid of it, costing me much more than the scanner
    • It DOES deliver on that promise; however, the software is very buggy and doesn't work properly, causing the unit to become more of a burden than a saving grace in only a week
    • The software was so clear and straightforward on the 100, why did they decide to "fix it
    • The software loaded quickly and easily on my Mac (I use the other scanner on Windows 8.1) though I avoided the (bulky) image management software and just installed the basics
    • I installed all the additional software available at canon.com, and still only 600 dpi
    • Easy to use and versatile software
    • Software works, but is average quality at best.
    • For advanced users that don't like the included software, the scanner has TWAIN, which means it will allow other applications to access the scanner or allow 3rd party software such as VueScan, which will replace one that came with Canon
    • One deficiency is the strength of the platten––it has limitations as to the weight of a book that one may want to scan.
    • I like the size and light weight of this scanner as well as that it doesn't need a separate power cord
    • However, this version of the software is not so bad as to make it unusable
