When one of the color tanks runs out you'll have enough photo black ink left for about 155 more prints (again, this is if you're only printing photos).So, if you replace only the color tanks with the regular size, that will cost $39 ($13 each)

If you are unsuccessful in finding a quality supplier at a decent price, you are simply forced to go back to Canon for the best (and most expensive) ink

And the ink is expensive.

Plus I find the ink to be very reasonable.

Print quality is excellent and low cost 3rd party ink is available

Ink lasted less than 1 month with minimal printing and quality has never been good

What's more, the print heads regularly clog and have to be cleaned repeatedly (which wastes ink, of course).Dealing with Canon support is just painful

It was solid, dependable, and ink was easy to get and not too expensive.

If they are all equally bad ink suckers with similar (short) lifespans, then might as well get the most out of it while it's alive

The most problematic issue I've experienced with inkjets is that when sitting unused for a while, the ink in the nozzles dries up and then a cleaning cycle needs to be run that ends up depleting all the ink

This one uses little ink and generics work great so far

There are a few positive things about this printer, it is a great compact size (which is why I purchased it in the first place), the ink is not super expensive to replace and it does a decent job at printing

Simple to use, decent print quality, wifi or wired, scans nicely, a decent home printer with separate ink tanks and an extra black tank for most black and white jobs

so far the quality is great, and the ink is not too expensive if you buy the "compatible" stuff.
