But even the sharpest auto-focused image was softer than the ones I focused manually using live-view

I kept getting soft images on all three copies

When the focus is spot on, it produces some of the most impressive images wide open

The images are sharp and clear and I can find nothing to criticize.

The autofocus appears to inconsistently miss the mark enough to cause slightly soft images wide open

The images from the ART lens blew this one away

When I manually focused, the image was good, but I didn't pay money to do that

The wide open performance of the Rokinon and Sigma options are just not on par with the canon, while stopping down makes them more comparable, having the smoothest and most usable crisp image at wide aperture values is what you are paying the extra money for

This lens has very fast and accurate focus, and the images are incredibly sharp, even wide-open

I imagine that on a full frame camera, images wide open will be much sharper

I mention this first because one might be confused as to how to properly utilize a 24mm F1.4 lens.
