Bought this mostly for the 50mm and the F1.8, and because of great price, I did not like the older models because I invested in bigger and larger lenses

The autofocus is louder than more expensive models - this is only relevant if you are doing cinematography, the sound WILL show up in a video.(3

I bought the previous model, the 50mm f/1.8 II, a few years ago and regretted it because of its poor auto-focusing issue

Amazing lens & way better than the M II version by far

Ef 50mm 1.8 worked very well with the Canon EOS 5 D Mark III full frame.

I could say that it's almost as good as its L counterpart
