It takes great crisp shots that make the subject really pop

Then, you go to a medium distance, maybe about 20-30 feet away from the subject with f/5.6-11, you can still take crisp shots without sacrificing any image quality

I usually shoot around 2.8 for good close-up shots.

In practice, my better shots are at f/2.0 to f/2.8 because the depth of field is razor thin at f/1.8

I wouldn't recommend it for special paid events as I have missed some great shots

Lets you get in quick for some good shots before people realize you are taking their picture.

Haven't had the time to use it much, but the shots I have taken are incredible

I use the Auto Focus on the camera and the shots are perfect, close or far away...it just works.

What can you say, it's the nifty fifty, it's not expensive and it takes crisp shots

great product -a must have in your inventory for effective shots

Also I usually do my shots outdoors so worrying over light is not an issue for me when it comes to this lens

I'm glad I did, the f/1.8 aperture allows for vivid professional shots with a blurred background, a desirable feature by many

One of the best things about the lens is the amazing bokeh effects that I have been able to produce (that blurry background/foreground) and that makes for some awesome shots

She enjoys it for shooting family gatherings as well as portraits and macro shots of whatever catches her eye
