Super quiet focusing.
-
sharpLight weight, not terribly expensive when on saleCons,Slow focusing, terrible at focusing in movie modevery distorted when at 10mm but can be fixed easily in Photoshop.

As we move along to the front of the Canon 10-18mm STM, we’ve got a nice zoom ring which is quite large for the size of the lens and also, just like many other stm lenses, a very nice focus ring
-
The 10-18 has VERY blurry corners and a very slow auto-focus.
-
Focus is fast
-
Continuous/automatic and silent focus are not supported on cameras older than the
-
SUPER FAST focus and it is so quiet that I thought it was broken at first.
-
Quiet auto focus, bright image in daylight, BUT chromatic aberration is awful and low light performance is not good!!
-
The focusing is virtually silent
-
The focus is so smooth.
-
GREAT for recording video because of the silent focus
-
The STM drive rendered pulls and Movie Servo silky smooth on my SL1.The "by wire," i.e., powered manual focus is smooth but lacks the control of a mechanical ring
-
Slow auto focus and less than great image
-
The focus is absolutely silent.
-
Sharp, completely silent focusing, image stablization - it's got it all
-
Build quality is steady and nice, zooming is smooth, and focusing is really quiet
-
I needed a low distortion very wide lens for real estate videos and I also needed image stabilization and quiet focusing.
-
It is silent for video and has a smoother focus when it makes a transition from one subject to another.
-
Its lightweight, got quiet auto focus and image stabilization

INCREDIBLE VALUE, CRISP FOCUS, Wide-Angle is fantastic
-
Silent auto focus in Video mode, using on my fantastic Canon 80D
-
Sharp focus
-
Fast focus, pretty sharp, color rendition is pretty great

Super fast focusing.
-
That is what I was looking for in a wide angle zoom.- Light weight, good size.- Very quiet/quick focus
-
Also, the base models do not support silent focus and lack the dual pixel focus that make lenses like this works so well.
-
Clear, quiet, perfect focus
-
The lens is sharp, accurate, focus is quick, and silent.
-
You will get a wide enough angle (just about), with blurry edges but good enough center focus
-
The Bad:No focus number window!
-
However, manual focus is electronic and not mechanical like most other (non-STM) lenses, so it only works when the camera is turned on
-
Also, the base models do not support silent focus and lack the dual pixel focus that make lenses like this works so well.
-
Also great for video is the super quite auto focus, which makes the lens more useful for everyday and family video shooting vs a set manual setting video shot.
-
So far the lens has sharp focus, and believe it or not, it seems better than the 22mm EFM that was made for the EOS m in focusing speed, and accuracy
-
Focus by wire" is somewhat less easy to use than a mechanical link, but its more of a change in paradigm than a handicap.
-
I was a bit worried about the slower f-stop, but I have been completely satisfied with this lens
-
I just wish I could afford the better lens(s)
