I am an avid Canon user - I have moved from a Rebel XT to 40D to 5DMKII.

It looks like Canon puts the M5/M6 out as a defensive camera to keep its customer base from deflecting to other camera brands.

Also, you can tell by the flip around screen that Canon expects this to appeal to people who plan on filming themselves

This camera is the best travel camera

All that time, I've been searching for the perfect travel camera -- I don't think it exists

It's small enough for good traveling and not be obnoxious if you're walking around with it on your neck

I don't really miss the viewfinder but there is one available to attach to the hot shoe

Also you can't really use the hot shoe mount because it blocks the flip out screen

Yes, bright light shots are now almost as sharp as the 6D and to the point that you can almost see the mosquitos on the branch that are barely visible before cropping.2

The M6 feels a bit lighter than the M3, and I suspect that there is more plastic in the newer body, especially the top and bottom plates, which I think were metal on the M3

The 15-45 does a decent job in well lit in-door situations.

Basically it's a sharp lovely small APSC under bright light, with buttons placement like a dream, without the "wow" factors from the 6D or 5Ds

In good light you get that great Canon color that a lot of people love
