One of the advantages of buying canon cartridges is that they contain good quality ink and you can get away with printing on "fast print" setting in your printer with no problems at all
I use this ink in my Pixma printer and the quality it produces is great.
The font with the off-brand cartridges was blurry and not the quality I wanted for my wedding invitations

One of the advantages of buying canon cartridges is that they contain good quality ink and you can get away with printing on "fast print" setting in your printer with no problems at all
When I'm printing text only documents, I change the setting to grayscale and fast print to use much less ink
I also ended up with clogged print heads and at least 1 trashed printer
To further save on ink & avoid printing unnecessary stuff (like logos and advertising on various websites), you can change your print options to "print only the selected frame".Lastly, when the printer tells you the ink cartridge is empty and needs to be replaced -- just press the "ok" button on the printer and keep doing so it until your ink truly does run out
The ink lasts forever and I get great printing results from all Canon inks I use
Some of the generic inks with this newest generation of printers measuring picoliters can clog up the print heads
I also ended up with clogged print heads and at least 1 trashed printer
I've used cheap off brand ink and they typically clog the printer heads after a while.
I used Canon-compatible inks on a previous printer (Canon MX310), which clogged the print head several times, the last of which damaged the print heads.
I would not recommend purchasing cheap knock offs, as they will only cause more problems than they are worth.
Don't waste your money with the refills or knock-offs, they will only cause problems on your nice, quality Canon product!
Stay away from the cheap knock offs if you want quality
