Capresso 303.01 4-Cup Espresso and Cappuccino Machine

    • It has little notches in the lid to prevent it from building up much pressure (which is what makes a good espresso), so it is impossible to get anything more robust than just plain strong coffee.
    • This machine produces strong coffee not espresso no matter how I ground the coffee
    • Sure, I could get a really fancy coffee maker that brews it perfectly, bringing out all the subtle notes in the flavor of the premium beans that I got from a specialty coffee store, but who has that kind of time or money?I like to make coffee drinks that are mostly milk, cream and sugar, so having a lower but much more concentrated ratio of coffee to work with instead of what you would get from traditional coffee makers is great
    • It did not take more than a couple of minutes to get the cup filled with well-prepared coffee
    • The coffee icomes out lukewarm and the frother
    • If you are using pre-ground coffee chances are it is not fine enough and is ground for a regular coffee machine.
    • Makes decent espresso and coffee, although the steamer is very inconsistent
    • Coffee is not hot enough
    • Easy to use & great coffee!
    • If you are a espresso lover, follow these directions, I know this machine well enough by now:For 1 person:-Fill the filter up to number 4.-Press firmly-Add water, until number 2.-Enjoy!Also, the best coffee I've found is Lavazza, the one you'll see at the beginning of this video:[
    • I did not want to buy the new pump because it takes too much space, and Capresso told me that this machine makes as good coffee.
    • Not a lot of crema, but it's not just "strong coffee."
    • No problems, very satisfactory coffee.
    • We have since switched to the Hamilton Beach The Scoop, since the coffee tastes just as good, is easy to clean, and doesn't break like this model
    • For those looking for an cost-effective cappucino/latte machine that produces good coffee, you'd be hard pressed to do better than the Capresso 303.01, but if having high quality espresso is more important, a pump-driven machine is a must (steam-driven machines simply don't do the trick).
    • If you need thick brew (almost like Turkish coffee) grind your coffee fine and press each layer lightly which adding
    • no fuss and made wonderful, rich coffee with excellent frothed milk
    • If you are like strong coffee, go for it with good price
    • When I first got the machine, the coffee seemed hotter, bit after a week, the coffee seemed to come out less hot.
    • Don't grind your coffee too fine or it will clog the pores of the coffee basket, and you will be scrubbing it with brushes and pins
    • This was a gift for an avid coffee drinker
    • Makes lots of foam and great coffee
    • The coffee definitely very weak and comes out too fast, and the steam nozzle has lost all its power, so it can't heat up milk
    • It's totally my primary machine now - it works well for the price (especially what I paid for it!), and makes pretty good coffee
    • Coffee is good, steaming attachment creates bubless that are too big and desolve quickly
    • Excellent little coffee maker
    • After that water would not come out thru the coffee, except a little dribble to make feeble coffee
    • Illy Coffee is the best to use and I highly recommend this machine for beginners
    • I'm stuck with weak coffee
    • I love my coffee now!
    • Now i use enough coffee for 4 cups, but put in water enough for 2.5 cups
    • To set up, make the coffee and clean it took about ten minutes per use
    • Or you can do a regular espresso with moderately fine coffee powder
    • Coffee is very good and it is fast.
    • Coffee was hot and the steamer made hot and creamy milk
    • Perfect gift for anyone that loves coffee, or wants to practice barista
    • (oct 2015), takes seconds to set up and it still makes great tasting coffee and espresso so fast
    • So far, my favorite coffee for it is LavAzza, which Safeway or World Market carry.
    • Pack 2 oz of properly ground coffee (too much or too
    • Mr. Coffee is still brewing strong as expected.
    • I was disappointed that it didn't actually press the coffee like espresso.
    • It makes great coffee and makes it quickly!
    • Remember that you will need to grind the coffee beforehand and need to purchase a pitcher for frothing
    • It took me a while to get used to it and get the coffee right because it is really easy to burn the grounds using this system
    • It just seemed to be like dark Coffee
    • I'm looking for an espresso machine because I want to steam clean my jewelry and make good coffee
    • The branding is a little misleading, as this machine produces strong coffee that is closer to stovetop coffee than real espresso.
    • so we take our coffee strong, and this machine makes it just how we like it.
    • Don't grind your coffee too fine or it will clog the pores of the coffee basket, and you will be scrubbing it with brushes and pins
    • Don't grind your coffee too fine or it will clog the pores of the coffee basket, and you will be scrubbing it with brushes and pins
    • It's probably the BEST coffee I've had since I was in Italy.
    • You have to stay by the pot because if you allow all the water to force through the grinds, it can cause the coffee to be way too strong
    • Fast and frothy rich coffee is the best I liked about this espresso/cappuccino maker
    • I love the coffee and the steamed milk it makes
    • I bought my daughter-in-law one too as she loves coffee like I do.
    • Have to spend some time reseating it, but the coffee is worth it.
    • If you need thick brew (almost like Turkish coffee) grind your coffee fine and press each layer lightly which adding
    • There are plenty of recipes to be found that are just as good as the coffee house and probably healthier
    • The coffee tastes great, the higher pressure of the steamed water seems to produce a better taste and saves on coffee grounds
    • We initially had the single serve coffee maker which we really liked, but when ours started overheating we replaced it but found the new one doesn't get the water hot enough so the coffee was too weak
    • It was getting too frustrading for me - throuwing away a lot of expensive coffee beans plus a lot of cleaning
    • As with my old beloved Krups in order to get good foam and hot coffee here are the steps.
    • I am a coffee lover, bought different coffee maker in the past.the recent one was Krups fancy regular coffee and expresso coffee maker, but i stopped using the frothing after i tried and failed few times later
    • I love being able to make coffees like Starbucks❤❤❤
    • No problems, very satisfactory coffee.
    • Not great coffee.
    • makes great coffee, cappuccino, espresso, and coffee too
    • No crema, no froth, lukewarm coffee/no espresso
    • I thought maybe I was packing the coffee too tight, but when I ran a vinegar solution to clean it (i.e., no coffee in the holder) it had the same problem.
    • Enjoy your coffee!
    • Never malfunctioned, makes good coffee every single day
    • It is the best coffee maker I've ever owned.
    • We had a Krups brand before and got great coffee with the same espresso coffee brand.
    • Love the coffee and steamer though and highly recommend this coffee machine.
    • Espresso is made with fine ground Coffee
    • That said, I like this machine, it is easy to use and rapidly delivers a decent quantity of strong fairly smooth coffee... which is just what I want
    • The machine works OK, but the coffee is just warm not hot (when making one cup).
    • Whereas the Krups have four rubber feet and a wide base, thus making it very stable, this goofy unit only has three rubber feet, making it tilt one way or the other if any pressure is put on it, which can result in a spill of hot liquid (coffee).
    • Makes excellent coffee
    • With espresso coffee beans and a burr grinder, the coffee is amazing
    • I have had none of the problems other reviewers (frothing, weak coffee, etc) have stated they have, it works great.
    • This machine produces strong coffee not espresso no matter how I ground the coffee
    • The coffee was not hot either.
    • It is also important to tamp the coffee to compress it for better consistency in the final product.
    • I don't know much about why some machines are in the hundreds or thousands of dollars range, but if you want an inexpensive, functioning espresso/cappuccino machine that makes froth no different from a great coffee shop etc., then treat yourself to this little joy giver.
    • I can make the coffee on the stove top just as well
    • We initially had the single serve coffee maker which we really liked, but when ours started overheating we replaced it but found the new one doesn't get the water hot enough so the coffee was too weak
    • Worked great for about 3 months, now I get cold coffee and (of course) the steamer doesn't work
    • We find that it makes good coffee but the seal inside the lid frequently unseats and has to be dealt with.
    • so we have an overpriced coffee pot.
    • Have not made more than 2 cups but so far the coffee has been very good
    • We had bought a better one that died within a few weeks, so went back to a cheaper one, but the coffee never tasted any good and now, after less than 6 months, the steamer no longer works.
    • I bought this for my work kitchen a couple years ago because nobody in my office makes good coffee
    • Fill the water reservoir with 10 oz. water, and add enough coffee for 4 oz. or two little expressos
    • The coffee is great, I really enjoy cappuccino and this machine makes great foam
    • and you can get a burnt coffee taste.
    • If the coffee is ground too fine
    • The dual controls were irritating, but I would have been fine fiddling with them if it had meant good espresso, but it wasn't espresso, just strong coffee with bubbly milk.
    • I have a coffee maker at home, but prefer the richer, darker coffee in espresso
    • With a bit of practice I am now able to brew a nice hot coffee breverage at home when ever I want
    • Directions say you shouldn't use fine ground Coffee
    • Have fun, be patient and happy coffee drinking!
    • Coffee that drips from the holder while you pour your hot coffee gets grungy, if (like me) you don't clean the bottom every time.
    • My only concern is that silver chips started appearing in the bottom of the water reservoir and on top of the coffee grounds, which kind of freaked me out so we quit using it
    • Some coffees work better than others.
    • It was making excellent coffee, but with time the machine broke and it was not worth repairing it.
    • I had a De Longhi before this one, and it was honestly my favorite part of waking up in the morning because it made good coffee
    • Good espresso coffee maker
    • and to make matters worse, the machine made TERRIBLE espresso coffee after all that effort!
    • After having some delicious coffee a friend made with this expresso machine and his recommendations about this unit, I decided to purchase it
    • It helps to have really good coffee too, I recommend the Lavazza Espresso
    • I received this as a gift, and it made plenty of cups of great coffee.
    • Nice machine makes excellent coffee and milk will be hotter and frothed as I like it
    • This coffee maker makes the best coffee, bar none
    • I would not buy another and do not recommend this to anyone who expects steamed milk or hot coffee
    • It was making excellent coffee, but with time the machine broke and it was not worth repairing it.
    • Coffee that drips from the holder while you pour your hot coffee gets grungy, if (like me) you don't clean the bottom every time.
    • Works ok, but doesn't produce any crema regardless of how coffee is ground or packed
    • Bought this for my son who loves coffee for Christmas; it was a big hit
    • Also -- the coffee dribbles out of the carafe too which isn't a huge deal, but just a pain.
    • I have a coffee maker at home, but prefer the richer, darker coffee in espresso
    • I am not a coffee elitist so found this cheap machine makes very, very strong coffee which is all I want.
    • The secret here for not burning coffee is to turn if off immediately after filling the glass carafe (unless using right away it to froth milk).
    • I ended up with a little cooler coffee than I prefer because I didn't steam it long enough.
    • I'd recommend it to anyone who likes stout coffee.
    • It is easy to use and creates exceptionally good coffee drinks
    • And when you don't love coffee but frequently need to ingest a lot of caffeine in a short amount of time, it's great
    • This machine made delicious coffee until it suddenly stopped working after 2 months of use.
    • I had a krups espresso machine for years and that made good coffee, but the reviews were so bad for their current model, I decided to get the Capresso.
    • Coffee wasn't good, but OK
    • Worked great for about 3 months, now I get cold coffee and (of course) the steamer doesn't work
    • I tried it many times , so I find it very good for heavy duty, with a good coffee taste
    • the coffee was fine but the milk-foam attachment was not easy to use and did not produce the right amount of foam.
