Capresso 303.01 4-Cup Espresso and Cappuccino Machine

    • It has little notches in the lid to prevent it from building up much pressure (which is what makes a good espresso), so it is impossible to get anything more robust than just plain strong coffee.
    • Da Daaaa HOT espresso
    • (I did use Starbucks Dark Roast Espresso.
    • Of course, any espresso drink is only as good as the beans, roast, and grind... but there are a few other entry-level capuccino machines I have used that produced an inferior espresso (taste and crema) in comparison to this surprisingly affordable unit
    • Makes great espresso/Cappuccino, easy to use and clean.
    • This is by far the worst espresso machine I have ever had.
    • Makes great espresso and good froth
    • The espresso is very good, although it does not create much crema.
    • It is easy to use, has great informative instructions, and makes delicious espresso!
    • This machine makes great espressos and cappuccinos
    • It doesn't make the perfect espresso, but it does make a good one.
    • The espresso is very good, less bitter than my previous machine, with clear directions
    • Tried it for myself...didnt make foam, didnt make good espresso
    • Great service and great espresso machineHighly recommend it.
    • Brews strong espresso quickly with little work
    • Happy to see this is still available, it is the perfect little espresso
    • It is a little difficult to use to make a proper espresso drink
    • The espresso is good, but for some reason the machine doesn't make it hot enough without manually keeping the setting to the steam spot first for a bit longer then moving it to the espresso spot, but you also have to be careful not to leave it for too long or it will burn the espresso.
    • I have successfully made strong espresso, microfoam, and dry foam without too much trouble
    • Makes decent espresso and coffee, although the steamer is very inconsistent
    • This is the best espresso/cappuccino machine for the price (and then some)
    • Great espresso, strong and not watery.
    • It dispenses enough espresso so that 4 people can have coffee and steams at such a high force that it's endless.
    • This is the first espresso machine I have owned, and due to having suffered through several abysmal lattes/mochas/red eyes where the espresso tasted foul, I thought I had no chance to make a decent drink at home if some professionals couldn't.
    • If you want a proper espresso machine, save your money and purchase a real espresso machine with a pump, you will be much happier in the long run.
    • I highly recommend this machine for those who like good espresso and latte but don't want to shell out some big bucks.
    • (you just have to make sure it's aligned), have never burnt my espresso (follow the instructions and don't run all the water through!), and releasing steam (for 1-2 shots) only takes about a minute
    • The espresso is robust with an easy control for strength located upfront
    • good espresso is 50% the machine you use, and 50% the coffee you use.
    • But for the price it is a good option for an inexpensive espresso, Cappuccino or latte maker.
    • Fantastic espresso maker!
    • I signed up right here on Amazon to get fancy Italian espresso ground coffee  Lavazza Crema e Gusto Ground Coffee, Italian , 8.8-Ounce Bricks (Pack of 4)  delivered to my door every month, so it couldn't be easier
    • This machine makes GREAT Espresso
    • and I'm sure you will be too due to the reasonable price, sturdy construction, ease of use, and the great espresso this machine makes.
    • The Capresso espresso/cappuccino works fantastic!!
    • My wife used it a few times and ended up being the better espresso maker with this machine so she uses it more than I do
    • Maybe it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of more expensive machines, but it makes good espresso with nice krema, and froths milk really well thanks to the venturi nozzle - if you have the right sized and shaped receptacle to hold the milk.
    • Nice little espresso maker
    • The first one I loved, it was compact and made a great espresso
    • Atttach coffee basket to maker and move front lever to the right according to how strong you want your espresso
    • I received this unit as a very thoughtful gift and have tried many different combinations of settings, but cannot get a good tasting espresso.
    • Still great espresso but no cappuccino.
    • Pro's : Makes great espresso, Steamer works fineCon
    • Great Espresso maker for the money
    • The milk is frothed, the espresso sweet and my cappuccino delicious
    • After a month, the frother stopped working, and the "espresso" is lukewarm
    • A shot of weak espresso brewed quickly, but was just warm
    • I saw some people say that it doesn't make hot espresso
    • (oct 2015), takes seconds to set up and it still makes great tasting coffee and espresso so fast
    • For several years I've had a cheap Mellita espresso machine that I've been very happy with
    • It worked for the first two months and produced decent espresso but has had this problem since
    • Well, a barista once told me that it isn't possible to get the best quality espresso from a home machine, you need one of the big fancy ones that you see in coffee shops
    • this was a good espresso machine for the price
    • Recently I have noticed that the espresso is not brewing quite as hot as it had been for the first 2+ years.
    • I'll keep working with it to see if there's some magic to improve the espresso
    • once I was rich and tried pricey electronic espresso makers but this works the best consistently!don't know about using it for 4 cups, i only get 1 cup espresso out of it, but its good espresso.also never use the frother why tempt fate plus i hate that extra clean up.
    • To my surprise, the espresso I've made thus far has been delicious (in my opinion, much better than my local Starbucks)
    • In fact, by adroit use of the valve on the steam channel, I have made the best 3.5 bar espresso of any machine I've owned.
    • What I finally did was, after making my latte, was let the balance of the water run through into the pot, making a very weak espresso (because I had put less coffee in the filter.)
    • Using the same weight of beans ground by the same grinder the Capresso machine, even at the highest strength setting, makes a much weaker espresso
    • The water won't heat; it squeezes out lukewarm/tepid espresso that is bitter and unpalatable
    • Good thing is that it's easy to use and make really good espresso and latte
    • Once I do that then this product will get five stars.--------------------After my second try, I managed to make the espresso the right temperature
    • but I could never get a cup of HOT espresso from it.
    • Great-tastes great use half and half and good espresso to start with and some good turbinado sugar and shoot it down with some chocolate
    • Going from working on an industrial machine to this particular model, I had to retrain/reconfigure a lot of my techniques so that I could adapt to the steam wand and shot calibration, but once I had I was able to make some mediocre espresso drinks...for the price
    • It still made great espresso and got me through the morning
    • It makes EXCELLENT espresso and once you get the hang of the frother (I am now Froth Queen
    • I have owned more expensive espresso machines but this one is great for money.
    • It's now more than a year later, and still putting out great espresso and lattes.
    • so I returned this machine and purchased a Delongi which was more expensive but did everything a good espresso machine should do
    • Its worth every penny I payed for it..Wonderful Espresso, and enough steam to froth 4oz. of Lt
    • The espresso is great and the steamer is wonderful
    • I signed up right here on Amazon to get fancy Italian espresso ground coffee  Lavazza Crema e Gusto Ground Coffee, Italian , 8.8-Ounce Bricks (Pack of 4)  delivered to my door every month, so it couldn't be easier
    • I am still looking for a good espresso/frothing machine.
    • It makes perfect espresso, and it froths milk beautifully.
    • I have been making likable espressos at home for many years, using an entry-level machine like this one
    • I've lived in Spain and France, so I know what a good espresso tastes like, and this machine doesn't do a good espresso
    • My caffeine addicted hubby overfilled the water chamber on a very expensive espresso/cappuccino machine and broke it
    • We had a chance to use it a few times and it meets expectations, makes decent espresso.
    • I would recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive espresso/cappuccino maker
    • There is a slight learning curve but with a little patience you will learn to make perfect espresso drinks
    • Makes great espresso for the price
    • It still makes good espresso.
    • No crema, no froth, lukewarm coffee/no espresso
    • This is a very nice espresso/cappuccino machine for the money
    • The espresso is good, but for some reason the machine doesn't make it hot enough without manually keeping the setting to the steam spot first for a bit longer then moving it to the espresso spot, but you also have to be careful not to leave it for too long or it will burn the espresso.
    • It's a no fuss espresso machine and I feel the best part is that I can use any kind of espresso coffee in it instead of using designated pods and can use my own milk
    • For me this is not a con because I can't drink things that are too hot, but like a previous reviewer said, the espresso is a bit on the warm (not hot) side if you're only making one shot
    • At first I was able to compensate by moving the lever more to the right (in theory creating "weaker" espresso), but finally even that stopped working.
    • This machine makes fairly good espresso for it's price range.
    • I love espresso, and this machine made a decent cup while it lasted
    • I'm happy to say that this machine makes perfect espresso every time.
    • Now that we've run it through its paces I can say that this is a great little espresso/cappucino/latte maker, particularly for the price.
    • I can steam milk just as well as with an expensive restaurant-grade espresso maker (I used to be a barrista).
    • The espresso is very good, less bitter than my previous machine, with clear directions
    • If I can't have a HOT espresso, nothing else matters
    • Pros:-very easy to use-decent espresso for its cost-smallCons:-MAJOR CON: the top part gets stuck and very very hard to open after making a drink
    • Awesome espresso's brewed quickly from an elegant machine priced very reasonable
    • This is a strong machine that gives me strong espresso
    • 303.01 4 CUP ESPRESSO and CAPPUCCINO MACHINE!It rests regally on my Kitchen counter, distinct from the accompanying appliances because it yields home made Espresso and Cappuccino that is at least equivalent to Starbucks, and as good as the quality of Espresso---coarse Grind recommended---Beans used
    • Like many other folks who bought this machine, the espresso is only luke
    • There is creama at the half-way point, so I suppose that would qualify as "espresso".When it quits I will buy it again.
    • I really like that you can turn off the espresso brewing to activate the milk frothing, unlike the old Krups, and you can also control how strong/weak you want your espresso
    • This machine makes great espresso for the price.
    • This is a very fine espresso maker
    • Makes a great cappuccino or espresso.
    • First and foremost, the Capresso makes decent espresso.
    • I don't know much about why some machines are in the hundreds or thousands of dollars range, but if you want an inexpensive, functioning espresso/cappuccino machine that makes froth no different from a great coffee shop etc., then treat yourself to this little joy giver.
    • The espresso is good and the milk foamer button is just now starting to not work well
    • I used to use it 3-4 times a day with no problems and it made great espresso drinks, but it's not very durable..
    • All this machine does is made decent espresso and only if you stop the brew part way through and save the Crème
    • The reviews seemed mixed at any price level and I wasn't sure if this type of machine would produce good espresso.
    • Perhaps because this is a pressure machine versus pump, but I clearly do not have the touch to make good espresso with this machine.
    • The secret to ANY machine is the grind..have a good grinder, and althought the instructions say you don't need to tamp it down, I've found it makes a better, stronger espresso if you do
    • That means you get a really nice cappuccion/espresso machine for around $50 and you know it will last at least 2 years.
    • The reason that it sucks is that the espresso comes out cold, and the steaming nozzle is weak and clumsy, with a weird plastic thing on it that masks the fact that there is just not enough steam to make a good latte
    • Because all I really want is an uncomplicated, reliable, reasonably-priced machine that makes hot espresso and froths well, I decided to give Capresso another shot when my Keurig started malfunctioning after only two months
    • The espresso was brown (not nearly dark enough) and the steam component didn't always work
    • Besides the weak espresso, I don't care for the Capresso's non-standard carafe shape which is tapered at the bottom (as is the Capresso's receptacle niche) preventing the use of my collection of spare untapered four-cup carafes
    • No doubt that it makes a really good espresso and is fast.
    • It takes some getting used to, but once you kinda master it, you will produce good lattes, espressos and what not
    • How can your espresso not be hot?
    • 303.01 4 CUP ESPRESSO and CAPPUCCINO MACHINE!It rests regally on my Kitchen counter, distinct from the accompanying appliances because it yields home made Espresso and Cappuccino that is at least equivalent to Starbucks, and as good as the quality of Espresso---coarse Grind recommended---Beans used
    • The dual controls were irritating, but I would have been fine fiddling with them if it had meant good espresso, but it wasn't espresso, just strong coffee with bubbly milk.
    • I would definitely recommend this if you want to make espresso, lattes, or cappuccinos or whatevers at home, and if you're not looking for the most authentic espresso ever (because they say a shot of espresso is extracted in 25 seconds or something, and this machine will simply not do that
    • it makes good espresso
    • Depending on the machine, a perfect espresso shot should take about 19-22 seconds to pour and should have three visible dimensions - the heart (the darkest), the body (the brown part), and the creme (the top lightest/sweetest part)
    • It does not brew the espresso as hot as I would like it and it takes a long time to steam milk, but for the price it was great
    • I saw the Capresso on amazon, ordered it, it makes great espresso and froths the milk, perfect...
    • If you are looking for an inexpensive Espresso/Cappuccino machine, this is it!!!
    • As far as steam machines go, it makes decent "fake" espresso.
    • Three months later after many dysfunctions it has stopped making steam or even hot espresso.
    • makes great and very hot espresso
    • On the pro side, people stated it was an easy machine and made great espresso's
    • It's really easy to use, and makes good, strong espresso
    • The espresso is only warm (and barely even warm)
    • This is not a good espresso machine
    • It produces lovely espresso/cappuccino every time, no burnt taste
    • Good espresso coffee maker
    • and to make matters worse, the machine made TERRIBLE espresso coffee after all that effort!
    • It helps to have really good coffee too, I recommend the Lavazza Espresso
    • I don't believe it makes the best espresso in the world (not very creamy looking)but lattes and cappuccinos are great
    • Good espresso and cappuccino for the non-coffee snob
    • Easy, reliable, and makes brewing espresso child's play
    • It's easy to use and makes delicious espresso, lattes and cappuccinos
    • this is a great little espresso maker for $60 that will easily compete with anything at thrice the price.
    • It makes great espresso
    • Great espresso
    • It was great, i read the instructions, it was easy to follow and make good espresso.
    • My espresso tastes great (I use good espresso ground illy coffee...) but it comes out cold.
    • I LOVE espresso
    • As far as steam machines go, it makes decent "fake" espresso.
    • I'm only 17, but I enjoy a good espresso and as soon as a got $50 Amazon gift card I raced to find a good and cheapish machine
    • Pros:-Fast espresso-
    • A proper Espresso machine uses a pump to force the water through the grounds at a specific pressure (around 15BAR I believe).
    • this is a very good espresso machine.
    • I love that you can control the espresso stength and this machine will make a stout dose of caffeine (many budget machines don't have the steam pressure to make strong espresso)
    • It's a great espresso machine, and so easy to use
    • So I got the Italian Bialetti Brikka stove top espresso perculator, and I love it
    • Makes great espresso at a great price.
    • As an addition to this review I really have to question the person who gave the review that the espresso wasn't hot.
    • sure it doesn't make excellent espresso, but for me it was good enough and it's fun experimenting making espresso and trying to improve
    • This espresso will be burnt.
    • This is a great little espresso maker
    • Great espresso, the frother makes nice lattes.
    • If I wanted espresso, I used my little stove top espresso pot.
    • My opinion easy to use and clean and excellent espresso/cappuccino machine.
    • It makes smooth espresso with crema every time, no mess, simple cleaning, simple everything
    • If you try to make 4 shots the espresso starts to burn.
    • I'd definitely recommend this machine for anyone who's looking for a simple, inexpensive machine that will produce great espresso.
    • If you're looking for an espresso machine that gives you hot espresso with the crema, make sure you go with a "pump" one
    • This little machine makes a Fantastic espresso
    • This is not a bad espresso machine for the price
    • I signed up right here on Amazon to get fancy Italian espresso ground coffee  Lavazza Crema e Gusto Ground Coffee, Italian , 8.8-Ounce Bricks (Pack of 4)  delivered to my door every month, so it couldn't be easier
