This shelving is lovely enough, however, some of the pre-drilled screw holes were off a bit.

The picture looks like you put the bottom and top shelves on first, but you really put the bottom and middle shelves on first.

These shelves split too easily when put together.

1x2's are used to support the shelves, with a large diameter screw going into the end grain of 1x2 at both ends

This unit isn't what I would call a forever piece of furniture, the shelves are thin and could easily split if the screw to attach them isn't put in perfectly straight.

I'm glad about that because I got it to replace a shelving unit that collapsed and was really tired of having books stacked up on my table

You have to be very careful putting them together though, you can split the wood shelves, but go slow, and it will be a very sturdy shelf
