Also, be aware (to reduce exasperation) that the instructions, while good overall, do leave some things to be desired, like clearly showing which direction the shelf is supposed to face up

First, let me say that I like putting things together, as long as all the pieces and tools are there, the prep work has been done properly, and the instructions are clear

While it was relatively easy to put together and looks nice from a distance, this thing is NOT sturdy.

We settled for a partial refund, but all things considered, I don't recommend this shelf.

The whole thing wobbles side to side.

One gross thing is that all the wood had an oily residue that off-gassed for quite awhile.

The only bad thing about these was they were a royal pain to put together, and the instructions aren't as clear as they should be.

This little book shelf looks so much nicer than all the cheap plastic things out there and the price is really nice.
