Prepare to hover over this carafe with a tea kettle or similar, incrementally splashing hot water over your grinds, bit by bit, until the pot is full and the coffee has measurably cooled

Folding the coffee filters so the grounds don't go right down into the coffeemaker instead of stay in the cone can be a little tricky, but other than that, it is great little pot.

I have reheated coffee directly in the Chemex on my gas range; however, I would recommend a good carafe to reduce the risk of breaking your pot or scorching your coffee

Although I have been grinding quality bean coffee for more than 25 years, I still needed to learn a few things to make a good pot with this coffeemaker:- Use medium grind : Almost all of the filtering is done in a small area at the bottom of the cone

A full pot takes roughly 8-10 minutes to make, but it's worth it.
