Then I gradually noted that it was failing to perform the automatic connection to the secondary Internet line when the primary failed

I thought my (almost 3 years) old RV042G was getting flaky in recent months, and perhaps was in early stage of failure, but in trying a brand new unit still getting pretty much the same thing with it: tend to lose connection while bigger downloads are happening (sometimes all by itself, sometimes instigated by other activities on the same computer).

Upon examining the logs, I found out that the router was refusing LAN->WAN connection, based on "Policy Violations", inspite of default policy settings that has no restrictions for LAN-> WAN traffic

I have never suffer for loosing connection since put on my new router
