Clarke SBDC Pennywhistle Boxed, Key of D

    • I'm really surprised by how nice this instrument sounds.
    • I'd recommend this to any beginner like myself looking for a decent instrument on a budget
    • all in all i would say its a very fun and easy instrument to play.
    • I would recommend this for anyone looking for a nice instrument with good, idiot-proof playability.
    • It has a seam at the bottom and is not metal, and he says there are small gaps in it, making it a poor musical instrument.
    • Usually I prefer wind instruments that require some practice and effort to produce a sound as opposed to those that have a whistle part that plays simply by putting the mouth on it and blowing but this one is the exception.
    • This whistle is easy to learn and fun to play :)I'm definitely no expert, but I love the sound - not a "toy" at all, in my opinion, but a nice musical instrument.
    • For what it is, this Clarke original is a fine pennywhistle from a notable and respected manufacturer; a simple, inexpensive little instrument with a long, rich history and a sound that defines the Celtic style of music from across the UK
    • Plays beautifully, the quality is un-serpassed (for a larger produced item), and a great instrument for travels :)
    • and it's a really great instrument.
    • the humble pennywhistle is a wonderful little instrument.
    • This is an extremely easy instrument to learn to play, there are no fancy fingering techniques, and a wealth of online tabs and sheet music for it
    • Both whistles are good instruments and excellent values for the money
    • I'll guarantee you one thing, when you get one just right, you will be impressed by the incredibly beautiful, balanced instrument you have, with second octave A's B's brilliant, in tune and chirping like a bird, and on a really good one' even 3rd octave d's and e's may be in tune and beautiful as well.
    • Good value for the price, would recommend for someone looking to play a cheap instrument without lessons, or experienced musicians trying something new.
    • great instrument, now to just learn to play it!
    • It has a lovely sound, is easy to learn, and seems very durable - a quality, simple instrument!
    • This is a very cute instrument, but I find it difficult to play
    • I bought this just to have a fun portable instrument, and it fills both of those criteria
    • They were after all called "pennywhistles" for a reason-- they were designed to be cheap, decent-quality instruments.
    • I've owned one of Clarke's MEG pennywhistles for some time, and it is also a workable instrument.
