It sits on a short nap carpet so i am concerned it will not lay flat by itself once i remove the solid mat. .

These floor mats suck

The mat is so soft, that the wheels of my office chair make an indent and it is stuck in those indents so you have to force the chair just to get it to roll

As you roll the chair, or the movement of standing up from the chair, the mat begins to creep.

There's no plastic smell, though perhaps not as robust quality as some chair mats - whether or not that makes a difference will be shown over time.

The floor mat protects my new kitchen floor, which I had to have done because my rolling chair damaged the old floor.

Also, it's way too easy to bump the mat out of alignment

I took this mat to my downstairs office and placed it on the Berber carpet and it worked a little better, but still not great

I can also tell the material is more flexible and it "hugs" the rug rather then "floats" like the Floortex mat does which secures the Staples mat a lot better to the carpet

I purchased the proper mats for carpeting and they do not stay in place on short, office carpeting.

It's a great carpet mat, No problems or complaints ! takes a day or two to settle and straightened out from being rolled up!
