One minor issue being that the chair will roll on the harder surface so you have to be careful getting in and out of the chair.

I don't expect this thing to last forever, but the fact it has held up under the weight of both me and my chair only a daily basis (I work from home on the computer, plus game a lot) certainly impressed me, especially considering I'm on soft carpet and not a hard surface

I then carefully lowered the smooth mat for bare floors onto it, taking care to keep the edges of two mats aligned, and taking care to get the rough top surface of the bare floor mat oriented correctly so the chair would have some surface to provide a little resistance.

The surface is easier to roll across.

To my surprise, even that oldie with the metal rollers hasn't marred the surface

I realized that the mat has to have a pretty hard surface or your chair will make divots in the mat.

So far this thing has provided a nice smooth rolling surface on my medium pie carpet.

This is a harder surface and is on a medium pile carpet and my chair (5 wheels) rolls as it should

The surface is very slick so my chair wheels sometimes just slip across instead of rolling

The mat is stiff enough that the chair wheels don't depress the surface enough to resist rolling around freely in any direction.

However, I chose the polycarbonate mat because they are reputed have a harder surface and to last longer than the PVC mats like I had before

There are no craters from wheels, or cracks as of yet

The chair doesn't sink into this as it is very sturdy.

Still as smooth as when I first put it down eight weeks ago.

The desk chair moves on it almost as well as when on a floor
