I wasted money and time

I decided to invest the Cleartex Polycarbonate chair mat despite the 'sticker shock', but I believe it was money well spent

Thus far it is working great--looks good, does not slip and best of all there are no cracks or breaks

Regardless, mine is working very well with no issues, has been down about a month on a low pile rug

PVC mats - even cheap ones - work great on hard non-foam backed carpets, but carpets 1/2 to 3/4 inch deep are a different world

The chair rolls well on the mat, and the spikes work well keeping it in place

We'll see how the long term durability works out, but so far absolutely no issues.

Great product much better than the one I bought at Office Depot

it's almost half the cost to replace the mat which is already proving to be an inferior product with an exorbitant replacement cost and over inflated durability claims

I use my chair mat on a plush high pile carpet with a thick soft carpet pad.

My office has a medium-pile carpet with a good pad underneath.

I can see my carpet through the pad, but the pad is not crystal clear or invisible

This is a very expensive pad, but I did not want a pad that would crack or break.

Any pads (outside of doubling up) would crack within a week -frustrating!

But very much worth the price as to the price of the other cheap floor mats

This is a harder surface and is on a medium pile carpet and my chair (5 wheels) rolls as it should

One minor issue being that the chair will roll on the harder surface so you have to be careful getting in and out of the chair.

Mat is very stiff so chair does not sink into carpet at all.

Did not last a year, cracked and developed holes in about 10 months of use on high traffic, low pile carpet.

The desk chair moves on it almost as well as when on a floor

The price initially put me off, however I would definitely recommend it since I won't have to keep buying them every year or so when they crack.

Amazon was kind enough to replace the cracked original( the manufacturer pretended to allow returns but really just makes the customer jump through multiple hoops even though I sent them clear photos of the cracking - their policy seems to be: assume the customer is lying ) but now, approximately 18 months later, the replacement is starting to crack ( I weigh 190 lbs, so it isn't me causing a problem ).

Durable, sturdy, no cracks or issues; very easy to clean.

Others are ineffective for chair movement and have cracked soon after purchase.

Smaller one cracked after 3 months, got this new thicker/bigger one and its working well 3 months in.

Lasted 5 years in a lightly used (2 to 3 hours per day) home-office environment on a low pile carpet (in front of computer) - then developed significant cracks

It does move a bit on the carpet, but I suspect it wouldn't do so if I had shorter pile.

Cutting the strap and unrolling it is every bit as exciting as other people have described!

Once you were in one spot for about a minute, the wheels would form dents in the mat and make you somewhat stuck.

Is thick enough to support chair wheels without any indenting.

I think swapping out the hard wheels for something with soft rubber will rectify this.

I have really good wheels on my chair (like about 2" total width) so this probably helps

About 6 weeks after the cracks appeared, chunks started coming out in one of the 3 locations

I am 6ft 250 lbs and this mat after 3 weeks is still hard as New.

After 3 weeks, no cracks, no dimpling from office chair wheels, and no movement on our rug at home
