Before, this would have meant constantly reading and writing the much-slower pagefile on the hard drive when there was insufficient physical RAM.

I think it is the netbook's problem, not the RAM... the SODIMM did what it was supposed to do.

If you're not sure what memory type your laptop supports, try the Crucial memory finder to determine the RAM specs compatible with your laptop model and then shop for those specs (irrespective of the brand you eventually choose)

I installed a 2GB with a 4GB memory in a Late 2009 Mac Mini, the performance increased and now the response time is as good as when I bought the computer back in 2009; even Apple does not support going beyond the recommended 2GB

I have had no memory errors or issues as of yet.

I am still trying to recover my pc as I have BIOS errors.
