I believe it has a design flaw

Mine also jammed this same way, so I conclude this must be a design flaw or they're producing a large number of "lemons" lately

I think this is a design flaw, as I exchanged my first one for a replacement, and now my second one is having the exact same problem.

The one design flaw that is unfortunate is that while this model comes with a handy little plastic lid to cover the stainless steel bowl if you have left over grind to save for the next day, you can not then return the grinding lid or cover to the device without having a gap

The biggest design flaw is the interior contour of the plastic lid, which has a raised ring intended to fit the circumference of the steel grinding cup, but it just creates a hard to reach ring of coffee grounds that, after a few uses, are coating the entire plastic lid interior and the base, the steel cup, the counter, etc., requiring a lot of cleaning time

With a name like Cuisinart, I would think that R&D would have solved this problem before putting the unit on the market

We have found that shaking it up/down as it grinds helps produce a very evenly ground coffee

(A brush would probably work just as well or better than a plastic spoon.

We had to return it to Amazon because the ground coffee leaked out as it was being ground

I have a larger Cuisinart coffee grinder that does gind more evenly, but I love this smaller grinder as it is not so noisey and is so fast
