It's amazing, it's like the difference between stale coffee and just ground beans

love having coffee made with freshly ground beans daily

My husband has a pod coffee maker in his office and we deliberated a while whether or not to go that route, but I like freshly ground beans as well as trying out a variety of different coffees, and we occasionally use a French press so decided against pods

We grind very fresh beans so we are quite picky about the taste.

If you like freshly ground coffee, you will now have to grind your own beans and time your grinding, and brush out the coffee into the filter

I always grind my beans just before brewing with the conical burr grinder set to 4 (fine) out of 12 (course).The reservoir is easy to fill with a nice cup indicator on the side.

If you grind your own beans you might need to take the valve out for the pause drip or the grinds can over flow and clog the valve, other than that it has so far worked great!

I use a Cuisinart burr mill to grind my beans and add them to the cone-shaped permanent gold filter, add water, set my brew strength to Bold, and press the brew button

I wish the stainless felt more substantial and that the black stainless was as dark as in the photo - I feel I paid extra for something that isn't what it is advertised to be

After each fill, it is necessary to wipe up the spilled water from the side of the unit, as well as from the counter top

Bottom line, you will be very satisfied with your first cup of coffee regarding the coffee flavor and temp, as well as the tight footprint of this maker on your counter top!
