With the APC PowerChute Personal Edition unit I had excellent software support and display showing everything I needed to know concerning the condition of the UPS.

After some more research, I learned that the APC units also have sensitivity adjustments (H/M/L) that can be changed via their free PC software (PowerChute PE) via USB cable.

The software is good (and not required), and at ~200W constant load with peaks into the 400W, I tend to get 20-30 minutes of battery life under a power outage, which is great because my area tends to get a lot of flickers/brief outages, especially in the winter.

Clearly the software is junk on the unit as it kills the battery after 5 discharges.

With two(2) of these plugged into the exact same duplex outlet, the bad one(s) would cycle randomly, while the good one(s) would work fine, so this appears not to be a utility power problem.

I would suggest CyberPower hire one of the many now unemployed English professors and have the guy write up a decent User’s Maual in the tradition of APC.

We had a huge surge that burned out the APC I had and damaged the (5-yr-old) Cyberpower computer hooked to it -- I was able to pull of all my data (all backed up like crazy anyway) off -- but suffered through the horrid smell of electrical burning as I was doing it.

They're fully compatible over USB with Synology's UPS service, which can also then serve UPS states to other Synology servers as well as via NUT to Windows and Linux workstations and servers.

Works exactly as it should, has come in during blackouts, keeping my key equipment from crashing.

I have not had any odors or issues as I have seen others write about

but I'm not worried as I think this will work great for my home computer.

I love the user interface on the newly designed cyberpowers as they are easier to read with the upgraded displays and prevent you from accidentally powering everything off abruptly when accidentally tapping thew power button like they used to on the older models

Both work exactly as they are supposed too.

In testing, when putting it on battery power, the noisy-as-can-be fan comes on and will NOT shut off, even after an hour of being back on main power

Set up was easy and I've tested a couple times and it works as it should.
