I'm not a fan of high string tension, so if you like 9s on a 25.5" scale tuned to E standard, you'll probably like these on guitars with the shorter 24.75" scale length for E standard.
-
A lighter feel makes playing better as it frees you to play and not be concerned with too much string tension.
-
These are my absolute favorite stings perfect for keeping string tension with lower tunings

I threw a set of these on a Baja Telecaster that I was re-building including a Bigsby vibrato, so I thought a heavier gauge string might just work-out well, but as others have noted, the string tension on these (once tuned to pitch) is rather "stout", and I just couldn't seem to bond with them

The heavy string tension helps me avoid hitting the frets.

These strings with the WOUND G work really well on my short scale guitars

and I implore you, if you have been plagued by sour g strings, you must try these
-
Ever have a bad G that sounds dead, even when you change the strings

I really like the wound third especially on Les Pauls, really helps with the infamous G string de-tune issue a lot of LPs have.
-
Great strings for that infamous G string falling out of tune

My ESP came with a set of Cleartone 9/42's on it, but the high E was busted
-
I like a lighter gauge string for bending, but the E and A on the strings I was using were too thin sounding.
-
One high E string broke while putting it and two strings broke as soon as you do a bend
-
Low E-string broke before I even put any tension on it with the tuning key...first and last time I buy anything from D’Addario.

Especially the low E's thanks to my prints

The high E string broke in less than a
