This router exceeded my expectations and works very well with decent range in my three story house

I got a refund and bought me the netgear ac1750 6400v2 and have had faster connection speeds, equal range and saved me $30

It seems to work ok-ish, but range is worse than my old one

The D-Link DIR-842 Wi-Fi router was easy to set up and has fantastic range and through put

In fact, my wireless extender has most of these features (sans a guest network) and costs $70.If you get it on sale for $100, it's a simple router with good range and no frills

It's my understanding that the 5Ghz is suppose to have greater range, but in my environment, that is not true

Range is 50% stronger than the AC1900- sufficient for up to 6 walls and 100 feet away.

However, the reality is that both the Archer and D-Link have excellent range (nearly double my 7 year-old Cisco router).In summary, D-Link makes solid, reliable products and they support them for years.
