I tried changing settings in Windows including "smooth on screen fonts" and various font sizes, as well as various color settings, but nothing made the text look clear.

I'm very happy with this monitor- bright enough, good color and sharp image, colors are good.

Indeed, the monitor works fine which means that (a) the cable is functional, (b) the monitor is functional, and (c) there's no real reason for it not to work as an external monitor for my iMac
