Dell Ultra HD 4k Monitor P2715Q 27-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor

    • Great monitor for productivity, has some compatibility issues with Hackintosh though-waking from sleep occasionally this thing will freeze and needs to be unplugged, but if you're aware of that issue you can just turn it off and back on before it happens.
    • The biggest issue with this monitor is due to the serious hardware-compatibility issues that stem from the bandwidth requirements of 4k displays, and the monitor's extremely unhelpful feedback when things don't work properly, that make troubleshooting compatibility issues near-impossible
    • Until the mix of computer hardware and display-connector interfaces out there support 4k across the board, expect to face some serious compatibility issues getting this monitor to work at its full native resolution and refresh rate
    • Reading through forums a while back, IIRC this is a slight compatibility issue between this specific monitor's DP port and the GTX700 series GPU's, which had some weird support under OSX
    • I have a 2yr old Alienware 14" with Win7pro, i7 processor, 16gbRAM, GeForce GT650M dedicated graphics which supports the 3840x2160 digital resolution, and also has the display
    • I run it in 2k mode (as I planned) because in 4k mode everything is too tiny of course, but in 2k mode I get extremely sharp text, almost as sharp as on an Apple retina display
    • It is not as sharp and contrasty as my other 27" IPS monitor (2560x1440) but that is mainly due to the antigloss coating, which was expected
    • Just as good as my 2015 Retina MB Pro screen, and if it's not the same, my eye cannot detect any difference
    • Great color, no noticeable bleed as of yet
    • Text is as crisp as on the Macbook Pro's built-in screen and color saturation looks more or less same to me
    • Excuse me, I bought this from B&H (sorry amazon), from NYC, Dell, USA
    • Text looks almost as good as e-ink on a Kindle
