IMO.These screens are great for the price, and they're not 16:9 which is a HUGE, HUGE benefit for those of us that value their vertical viewing rights (yes, 120px is a huge difference, especially if you do the math).

Although the 1920x1200 isn't AS sharp as the retina screen, it comes pretty close.

I have installed the PowerNap program that came with it on my main computer, and the screen-dimming when the screen saver goes on works just fine; there is a noticeable time for the screen to go back to full brightness after the mouse is moved/key is pressed to end the screensaver, but it's worth it to me to save energy.

Solid colors do not look like solid colors, bright colors look murky, and no matter what you do, you can't get over looking past the "dirty" screen

Unlike most of the reviewers here who turn the brightness down to about 35, I'm one of those people who like a nice bright screen and find the factory pre-set 75 level to be just perfect for my eyes

However, before buying on Amazon I purchased one from Microcenter which had the yellowing (Revision A01, manufactured July 2014).These are a steal as they come with a fully functional stand, and I prefer the design over the Asus VS24A I had previously (Dell has a more pleasing design and no screen burn so far)

Games and pictures look very nice on this, and the resolution is a nice break from my laptop's cheap 1366x768 gloss screen

Since the beginning I have been unable to get picture perfect screen -- I've calibrated it with the Spyder device and it did not improve the picture quality

I did some research in the way-back machine and it seems like I paid close to $500 7 years ago when I got my old 20", so paying 300 for a larger, higher res and more vibrant screen, is really quite a good deal... especially since 2007 dollars are about 50% + more valuable than our inflated monopoly money today

This Dell U2412M seemed a reasonable compromise albeit smaller screen, but at much more reasonable price point
