DeLonghi America EC680B Dedica 15-Bar Pump Espresso Machine, Black

    • When it works, it makes great coffee and for 4 months you may love it, but then the honeymoon is over and it just isn't worth the hassle.
    • It does take a better technique and fresher coffee to get the same nice crema (as there is not the crema enhancing feature of the double wall filters that come with this machine)
    • However, the pump has always been on the weaker side, and I have had to watch out to to grind the coffee too finely, or tamp the coffee more than juts a little bit.
    • Makes great coffee.
    • I made espresso using loose coffee and also the pods.
    • You will spend less time waiting and more time enjoying the coffee you
    • My best coffee making experience ever - well worth the upgrade from the EC 155 that I had previously.
    • The coffee you use makes a huge difference, totally worth the extra seven bucks to get illy or similar vs. bad coffee.
    • My experience shows that the home espresso machine does NOT like highly ground FINE coffee
    • I wasted a half bag of really good coffee from Honduras trying to get this to work
    • After I got it working, I had the best coffee for a month and a half, until the steamer wand no longer worked.
    • Machine looks great but the coffee was not wow
    • Great coffee, great froth, great features and a great design
    • It's also easy to make a regular espresso (with loose coffee grounds)
    • Good coffee maker, we use it 5-6 times per week.
    • People whose coffee is cold can't all be ignorant of the programmable features
    • It heats up quickly, it brews quickly and quietly, and it offers a number of consumer-friendly features that make it super easy to produce very good coffee
    • Not enough pressure to push water though fine ground coffee in the filter
    • and I thought it was the most wonderful coffee I had ever tasted
    • Despite being anal about keeping it clean and properly decalcified per the manufacturer's instructions it begins to fail making enough coffee.
    • but I was really hoping for the option to be able to put double that amount of ground coffee in so that you could make enough coffee for two people to have a flat white, for instance, without having to do the process
    • It heats up fast and makes strong rich coffee
    • Great quality, makes delicious coffee with thick crema.
    • This is my 4th home espresso machine and myself and family are loving the coffee the Delonghi EC680M DEDICA produces
    • Coffee is good
    • I filled the coffee grind holder with 2 scoops of espresso ground coffee
    • Coffee is a delicacy in my family
    • I have used various blends and grinds off high quality coffees and the quality of the crema is very inconsistent (sometimes excellent, sometimes non existent)
    • I usually make it in a French press, because I like that better than drip coffee
    • Being a total newbie I had to first go to the store and buy finely ground coffee.
    • Coffee is good
    • If you are addicted to Starbucks, this machine will definitely save you tons of money in the end especially if you have more than one person in the house who loves coffee
    • The best coffee maker I have purchase.
    • Works great, good coffee and fast
    • Coffee is great, steam wand is
    • My coffee is rich, deep with flavor, and aromatic
    • It serves it's purpose admirably, but the plastic is impossible to clean, so it starts smelling like stale coffee
    • After putting less in and a lighter tamp, I was able to produce a really nice coffee.
    • I like it very much!!Easy to make nice coffee!!
    • Best coffee machine for the money and easy to use.
    • Overall, this is a great coffee machine
    • But once I figured it out, the coffee was great
    • You can't put 2 full scoops (the scoop that came with the machine) of ground coffee into the filter, or it won't fit back into the machine
    • The ground coffee beans need to packed fairly tightly in order to get even spread of heat and moisture through the filter.
    • it makes beautiful, delicious espresso coffee without wasting any time
    • Trust me, if you love coffee and are entranced by the art and science of espresso, then save yourself time and money by buying a high-end grinder from the beginning
    • Make sure not to fill the coffee too high or won't work
    • We have used both the prepackaged coffee disks as well as loose ground coffee
    • But you need time and must not have an eversion to paying even more money for the coffee pods or clean will be extensive.
    • I don't like coffee to be scalding hot, its never too hot with this machine.
    • Just make sure to that you use good expresso coffee beans.
    • The coffee is not very hot the first cup
    • Everyone loves the coffee this machine makes.
    • You have to luck out to get one that works well, with our emphasis being cappuccinos--half or less of strong espresso grind/type coffee and half or more steamed and frothed milk.
    • Before this I used a moka cafetera for strong coffee and hand frothed my milk with aerator
    • This is a fantastic machine for home use, makes great coffee, takes up little space, and is very stylish
    • Best coffee machine
    • Either way made delicious coffee, just be sure to use the correct filter for the number of cups you want.
    • But I’m determined to switch to fresh-ground coffee to reduce the amount of waste I’m generating, and glad that is also an option with the matching KG521 burr grinder.
    • Makes great coffee.
    • I love to drink my Cuban coffee (just a little stronger than an Italian Espresso) and this machine rivals any commercial machine I've ever had coffee from
    • Assuming your Delonghi EC680M DEDICA is in good working order you can have the best coffee at home if you get the critical factor right
    • I don't believe the single shot setting is the greatest as coffee doesn't brew for as long as it should and the end result tastes watered down, but I haven't played that much with it
    • It is the best espresso coffee maker for us.
    • Also, coffee is just not hot
    • The single cup loose coffee filter does not work well, you need to use the double filter, to make a single cup of espresso
    • Makes a decent coffee.
    • We have used both the prepackaged coffee disks as well as loose ground coffee
    • While I can't compare it with other coffee makers, except for one useless machine I bought some years ago, it makes, on average, as good a coffee as I can buy in a coffee house.
    • It makes good coffee
    • Accepts either loose ground coffee or ESE coffee pods
    • I'm making lattes and cappacinos that look like they come out of some fancy coffee place or restaurant
    • We use fresh ground coffee but there are
    • It works great and makes excellent coffee
    • After a couple of days of tinkering, I prepared and tasted the best coffee ever using this machine !
    • makes a great coffee for that price
    • Getting used to it, it makes amazing coffee, but seems to overheat a lot or "need a break" after making 2 double espressos
    • Make sure to buy good coffee, that makes a big difference in taste, of course
    • compact, simple to use and makes great coffee
    • It has worked liked a champ making some of the best coffee (I mean, espresso) that I have ever tasted.
    • and I just love the coffee that I am making from it.
    • Because: No coffee foam which i really like to see it in my coffee
    • As a beginner, I'm shocked at how well, after a little research, I can now make all of my favorite coffee drinks (cappuccino, latte, espresso) and rarely paying $5-7.00 for them anymore :)
    • It makes a good coffee
    • the machine creates nice coffee with lot of crema and great steamed milk
    • Makes good coffee.
    • After my second vacation to Italy, I got hooked on their fantastic coffee and brew selections.
    • it spending a little extra money to have amazing quality coffee for years to come
    • but I was really hoping for the option to be able to put double that amount of ground coffee in so that you could make enough coffee for two people to have a flat white, for instance, without having to do the process
    • The one star above a single star rating is for the beauty of the machine, and the fact that it produces good coffee
    • Not enough pressure to push water though fine ground coffee in the filter
    • i need to add, with an espresso machine, the coffee is always fresh, as opposed to making coffee in the morning and warming up a cup during the day.
    • The machine makes outstanding coffee; I couldn't be happier
    • Excellent coffee machine.
    • A real bummer to finally findA good coffee maker and then the handle breaks in Just a few days!
    • than the little single serve cups is that I feel like I've made my own coffee
    • but I do love my coffee which I consume on a daily basis more than the average coffee drinker.
    • Second one made weak coffee, wouldn't turn off, very dangerous
    • I don't like coffee to be scalding hot, its never too hot with this machine.
    • My old espresso machine broke 5 days ago and I have seriously been missing my strong coffee
    • My experience shows that the home espresso machine does NOT like highly ground FINE coffee
    • but the coffee is delicious!
    • Makes a Expresso, or Latté as well as a coffee house.
    • The coffee you use makes a huge difference, totally worth the extra seven bucks to get illy or similar vs. bad coffee.
    • The coffee that comes out is good.
    • As I still love the coffee, I've decided to keep
    • When you actually get the coffee maker turned on, it does make great coffee with great crema
    • ALSO, always leave an eight of an inch gap at the top of the filter when you're filling the filter with ground coffee beans
    • This is the ABSOLUTE WORST COFFEE MACHINE in the world
    • no circumstances should you ever use blade-ground coffee in an espresso machine, and if you aren't grinding your coffee fresh, you shouldn't even bother with espresso
    • The handle that holds the coffee is almost impossible to put on as the fit is so tight.
    • After nine months, it's making fine coffee again, so I'm upgrading to a four-star review....
    • Overall, a well thought out design that makes great coffee.
    • It's not all that easy to find a smaller machine that does loose coffee anymore - most seem to be going to those plastic pods
    • The coffee is delicious but the double espresso button has stopped working after just a couple months, anyone know how to fix this
    • Easy to use and understand directions of operation and set up, PLUS has a temperature control so that the coffee doesn't have to come out scalding hot unless you like it like that.
    • She is super easy to use and makes wonderful coffee.
    • I tried the loose coffee filters – always a mess with grinds everywhere- which is what I wanted to avoid.
    • Makes delicious coffee, but difficult to use.
    • Just go straight to doubles, and you'll be pouring one delicious coffee after another
    • Best coffee machine ever!
    • The coffee is HOT when it comes out
    • This may be for our liking but we enjoy hot coffee
    • so I had to modify the plastic insert in the Delonghi's portafilter so that it would fit into the portafilter all the way: https://www.amazon.com/MagiDeal-Coffee-Pressurized-Breville-Delonghi/dp/B01JRH3DMS)2) a good coffee tamper (mine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B703BNU)3) a coffee grinder capable of a uniform fine grind (the is the only grinder under $100 (USD) worth having, IMHO, but there are some good ones available at $180 or more
    • So the nice new coffee has to run through this stale coffee watercourse and picks up some of the stale flavor.
    • Unfortunately, it feels like the coffee is never really hot enough
    • Unfortunately, it feels like the coffee is never really hot enough
    • Nice & usefull coffee maker
    • You can extend your pull into whatever you want to call that to fill your cup 2/3 and it is great coffee
    • I usually make my expressos the old fashioned way with a manual ceramic burr mill grinder to make the fine coffee grounds and a moka expresso maker that brew the coffee slowly over the stove on the lowest setting.
    • They are as good or better than local coffee shops
    • If you're not getting very good espresso out of this machine, it's probably the coffee you're putting in, or if you're using the absolute freshest coffee ground correctly, it's possible the brew temp is high and you need to adjust it down
    • it's small, beautiful and the coffee tasted good, but you need to wait a littile minutes before its ready to work
    • and Yes I would buy it again....that is how much I love the coffee this little machine spews forth
    • I love coffee, but I really love espresso
    • We LOVE IT! great coffee!
    • Low cost, nice looking, great coffee
    • I guess a dollar-something a week isn't much to pay for a decent coffee
    • I certainly didn't need further bewilderment over how to choose fresh coffee beans, which is the best burr grinder to get, etc
    • Nice brown coffee foam
    • https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000AR7SY)4) fresh, quality, coffee beans (ideally from a *local* roaster or coffee shop, if available in your area)With this setup, I am pulling very good shot with a rich dense crema, and every single item listed above contributes to it
    • So the nice new coffee has to run through this stale coffee watercourse and picks up some of the stale flavor.
    • Burned and Bitter tasting coffee, and no crema
    • I've seen much nicer coffee machines for $15 at Wal-Mart
    • This machine, though it has many good attributes (I still love the coffee), just doesn't warrant 5 stars in my opinion
    • I had to buy the smaller cups, and I'm now absolutely happy!!!True Italian coffee experience for the real espresso lovers!
    • A few years ago, I spent $79 dollars on a Mr. Coffee espresso machine that worked better than this & was still running 3.5 years later when I decided to upgrade
    • It's well made, looks good, doesn't take up much space and it makes really good coffee once you learn how to use it.
    • However, if you're going to spend money on fresh roasted coffee beans for your espresso, then you will save money in the long run and get exponentially better coffee by investing in a better grinder
    • Makes delicious coffee, but difficult to use.
    • Best espresso coffee maker
    • Unbiased test with my friend confirmed that the same coffee was better with this one
    • Amazing coffee maker, best for the price!
    • Even buying the most expensive coffee beans the savings would be significant.)For me, another big advantage is that It takes up very little space on my counter which already has several appliances which we use daily
    • Having grown up in an all Italian neighborhood in NY, and having vacationed in Italy 5 times now, this 100% Irish girl loves her Italian coffee
    • I've used it 2 - 3 times a day for a week and the first few times made for a good coffee
    • Make sure to ground your own coffee to really get all flavors and crema
    • Great tasting coffee, latte, espresso and Cappucino!
