Great coffee, great froth, great features and a great design
The coffee inserts are kind of funny design, the metal screen is permanently inside the outside shell, and I don't know if they can be modified for non-pressurized espresso like the EC155 could, so I'll be looking for that next.
Very poor design that I see many others have same problem with
Overall, a well thought out design that makes great coffee.
A well made small compact design that takes up very little counter space
if you buy a good quality coffee roasting beans grinding for espresso, with this machine can produce excellent espresso under the best Italian style and less than half the price of the machines trendy aluminum capsules
Great quality, makes delicious coffee with thick crema.
Their products are amazing and are made of great quality!
I would recommend a more sturdy machine if you can afford it - like the Gaggia Classic as this unit seems to be made with some questionable quality components.
Second it makes perfect espresso and froths the milk like a little champion.
I foam the milk cold and then heat it on the stove, and although it isn't as hot as if it were steamed, it is perfect microfoam that lasts til the last drop!
It take only about 30 seconds to have hot, steamed milk with very good foam
I used this machine for a couple of weeks as it works well, steams the milk well, and pretty fast
The only qualm i have with this product is the milk frother
The steamer is easy to use and produces either steam or hot water for tea
DeLonghi suggests warming your cup with hot water first.
This is wonderful for me since we have hard water - the booklet says to use the "total hardness test indicator paper attached to this manual" but mine did not have one.
The only issue I have is if you move it at all, the water reservoir leaks.
There is a feature where you can get hot water out of the frother, but it is slow.
I've had this machine for some time now, and it still works as perfectly as it did when I first purchased it
This was not the case with De Longhi - awful customer service, lack of effort, poor communication, lack of follow-through and altogether bad experience.
I love my machine I've had it for 2 years now and still working just as great as when I got it.
It will kill me since I am having twice coffee as much as before since I have bought this
I only hope it continues to look and work as well as it has
I foam the milk cold and then heat it on the stove, and although it isn't as hot as if it were steamed, it is perfect microfoam that lasts til the last drop!
It serves it's purpose admirably, but the plastic is impossible to clean, so it starts smelling like stale coffee
The cap is a cheap plastic glued on and with washing in the sink the heat must have caused the glue to lose grip
It smells like the most toxic plastic there has ever been
I love my machine I've had it for 2 years now and still working just as great as when I got it.
That's a bit too much of a coincidence for me and simply leads me to believe that its a cheap product
It's out of warranty though I can still use it to make coffee (just leaks a bit out frother), not sure what can be done to fix it.
This actually surprised and disappointed me a bit - I find the shots are a little on the long side
n’t work
Of course it comes a bit easy to me since I've been trained in how to make one, however I believe a beginner could simply look up some YouTube videos and learn how to pretty quickly with some practice
It is not worth the hassle or the bad customer service.
I spoke with friendly customer service representatives wholed me through 2 video chats where they recognized the issue with mymachine and requested I return it for repairs (at my cost)
I got the box out of storage, and then read the comments about D'Longhi's AWFUL customer service
I bought this unit because the reviews were good, but did not see anyone else spell out the POOR customer service and warranty policy.
This was not the case with De Longhi - awful customer service, lack of effort, poor communication, lack of follow-through and altogether bad experience.
But under what seems like unwarranted pump strain, as I listened to the machine, I felt that even the used machine bought at a discount sounded less defective than this.
While I am sure you can get a much better machine for thousands of dollars, this one makes great espresso and seems to have a powerful pump.
After a couple months of wonderful lattes, espressos, and cappucinos, it seems the pump quit working properly.
Made one lousy cup of expresso, then the pump quit working
The repair fellow told her that the water pump in the Delonghi is incredibly cheap and often goes out
All components (save the plastic "tamper" that is awful) are very high-quality
To steam, you need higher temperature and more pressure, which stresses the boiler and components more, causing overheating etc
Also, Delonghi really cut corners on quality and tried to squeeze too much profit by introducing cheap components.

I would recommend a more sturdy machine if you can afford it - like the Gaggia Classic as this unit seems to be made with some questionable quality components.
I tamp the coffee down (espresso grind) and I get lots of crema.
So I have figured out that if I use a short coffee cup (one that will fit under the heads and holds three single shots) and then fill the single shot filter cup with an espresso grind - and brew a double
But you can buy espresso grind at the stores that work well.

The frother sometimes acts up,,, i'm not sure if this is user error or if I've had it a
I'm fairly certain user error was not involved
These tips aren't specific to this machine, so much as espresso making in general... and a lot of the complaints I see on here (lack of crema, issues with using the steam wand, etc) are easily avoidable user error
