My experience shows that the home espresso machine does NOT like highly ground FINE coffee
-
I thought it made a decent coffee until i tried a machine which was more than twice the cost of this
-
, I almost got a different machine, because I just felt the coffee wasn't strong or flavorful like I would like, but the secret is not even in the coffee or this machine, it is in the grinder
-
While I can't compare it with other coffee makers, except for one useless machine I bought some years ago, it makes, on average, as good a coffee as I can buy in a coffee house.
-
Most days it is very frustrating: it wont make the damn coffee
-
The coffee is delicious but the double espresso button has stopped working after just a couple months, anyone know how to fix this
-
But really now considering to return this because after use, the coffee was muddy
-
Great quality, makes delicious coffee with thick crema.
-
Trust me, if you love coffee and are entranced by the art and science of espresso, then save yourself time and money by buying a high-end grinder from the beginning
-
I don't like coffee to be scalding hot, its never too hot with this machine.
-
but I was really hoping for the option to be able to put double that amount of ground coffee in so that you could make enough coffee for two people to have a flat white, for instance, without having to do the process
-
There were a few things to figure out at first; such as coffee ground size and temperature, but after you find the sweet spot you are good to go
-
I have tried descaling, played with coffee grind size, different coffees
-
My coffee is rich, deep with flavor, and aromatic
-
I've used it 2 - 3 times a day for a week and the first few times made for a good coffee
-
It makes good coffee
-
The spoon's shape is less than ideal, and I always end up spilling finely-ground espresso coffee all over the counter.
-
and it's still working great and still producing espresso that rivals my favorite coffee shops.
-
the coffee is ok, but not really rich and deep.
-
I don't believe the single shot setting is the greatest as coffee doesn't brew for as long as it should and the end result tastes watered down, but I haven't played that much with it
-
Second one made weak coffee, wouldn't turn off, very dangerous
-
Good coffee, and a good brewing process will result in a good beverage
-
It serves it's purpose admirably, but the plastic is impossible to clean, so it starts smelling like stale coffee
-
Are you using a good coffee
-
Coffee is good
-
Makes a Expresso, or Latté as well as a coffee house.
-
I had to buy the smaller cups, and I'm now absolutely happy!!!True Italian coffee experience for the real espresso lovers!
-
After nine months, it's making fine coffee again, so I'm upgrading to a four-star review....
-
Makes a decent coffee.
-
The interchangeable filters are cool but they also mean that you cannot bang the coffee out to clean the filter, you have to scoop out the grinds with a small spoon.
-
ALSO, always leave an eight of an inch gap at the top of the filter when you're filling the filter with ground coffee beans
-
the hardest issue I have had is picking the best coffee that creates a good taste for me! wonderful machine when and if this one decides to stop working I will purchase another its a great machine.
-
The coffee I get out this is good
-
This is a fantastic machine for home use, makes great coffee, takes up little space, and is very stylish
-
It does take a better technique and fresher coffee to get the same nice crema (as there is not the crema enhancing feature of the double wall filters that come with this machine)
-
The one provided does not hold enough coffee.
-
but I do love my coffee which I consume on a daily basis more than the average coffee drinker.
-
Great expresso coffee maker
-
it makes beautiful, delicious espresso coffee without wasting any time
-
I love to drink my Cuban coffee (just a little stronger than an Italian Espresso) and this machine rivals any commercial machine I've ever had coffee from
-
I love the coffee I get with this machine
-
Coffee is great, steam wand is
-
It makes good espresso and good coffee drinks
-
Everyone who loves espresso coffee can have it
-
I have two of these machines and love the coffee but hate the blinking orange light.
-
I have two of these machines and love the coffee but hate the blinking orange light.
-
Thanks DeLonghi to make Italian Expats' life easier with a good coffee!
-
Excellent coffee machine.
-
Best espresso coffee maker
-
Easy to use and understand directions of operation and set up, PLUS has a temperature control so that the coffee doesn't have to come out scalding hot unless you like it like that.
-
I use super cheap-o pre-ground decaf coffee and it makes what I consider to be a very tasty cup.
-
this espresso machine make the best coffee in town
-
The last one lasted almost three years and made great frothy coffee while it worked
-
This is the ABSOLUTE WORST COFFEE MACHINE in the world
-
I love ice coffee instead of hot.
-
I don't like coffee to be scalding hot, its never too hot with this machine.
-
makes a great coffee for that price
-
After I got it working, I had the best coffee for a month and a half, until the steamer wand no longer worked.
-
I filled the coffee grind holder with 2 scoops of espresso ground coffee
-
One is that my coffee is better, and the other is that the brewer doesn't overextract
-
We LOVE IT! great coffee!
-
Makes an amazing cup of strong coffee.
-
Burned and Bitter tasting coffee, and no crema
-
It's well made, looks good, doesn't take up much space and it makes really good coffee once you learn how to use it.
-
Makes good coffee.
-
Once I focused on ensuring these parts were completely dry before putting the freshly-ground coffee in, the problem has gone away entirely and the product consistently works great.
-
The flashing yellow light comes on often (requires descaling), but otherwise is a great machine, reasonable operation nose, does not take a lot of space, and makes a nice coffee.
-
Small and simple to use, powerful pressure pump, my coffee tastes excellent
-
compact, simple to use and makes great coffee
-
This is my 4th home espresso machine and myself and family are loving the coffee the Delonghi EC680M DEDICA produces
-
Did I get a bad one or are these newer ones making much weaker coffee in general
-
Honestly, I stopped going out to coffee shops because my coffee is so much better and it costs me 17 cents only (chocolate not included)!
-
but the coffee is delicious!
-
I used it, the coffee essentially worked like a plug and didn't let the water through, resulting in the need to clean it all out and start again.
-
It's also easy to make a regular espresso (with loose coffee grounds)
-
It's not all that easy to find a smaller machine that does loose coffee anymore - most seem to be going to those plastic pods
-
Also, coffee is just not hot
-
but I was really hoping for the option to be able to put double that amount of ground coffee in so that you could make enough coffee for two people to have a flat white, for instance, without having to do the process
-
This is our 2nd DeLonghi espresso machine (the first was an espresso/coffee machine) that doesn’t work within 2 months
-
Everyone loves the coffee this machine makes.
-
However, if you're going to spend money on fresh roasted coffee beans for your espresso, then you will save money in the long run and get exponentially better coffee by investing in a better grinder
-
Nice & usefull coffee maker
-
it spending a little extra money to have amazing quality coffee for years to come
-
Nice brown coffee foam
-
The machine still works well and makes good coffee.
-
As a beginner, I'm shocked at how well, after a little research, I can now make all of my favorite coffee drinks (cappuccino, latte, espresso) and rarely paying $5-7.00 for them anymore :)
-
Just go straight to doubles, and you'll be pouring one delicious coffee after another
-
It is very tough to grind coffee right for this thing
-
One of my other issues is, after making coffee, and you make milk/froth, you can't make any more coffee unless you bleed the system first
-
While I didn't purchase this on Amazon I have had this for over a year now and it hasn't given me any problems and produces better coffee than Nespresso for a fraction of the cost
-
The machine makes outstanding coffee; I couldn't be happier
-
My best coffee making experience ever - well worth the upgrade from the EC 155 that I had previously.
-
I've seen much nicer coffee machines for $15 at Wal-Mart
-
My experience shows that the home espresso machine does NOT like highly ground FINE coffee
-
The last one made rich frothy coffee that was always delicious
-
Efficient, easy to clean, and best of all consistently great coffee.
-
For context, I used to own an Italian-made commercial espresso machine that cost thousands of dollars -- for a business -- and the difference in resultant crema is indistinguishable although I do use distilled water and good espresso coffee.
-
Best coffee machine for the money and easy to use.
-
But I’m determined to switch to fresh-ground coffee to reduce the amount of waste I’m generating, and glad that is also an option with the matching KG521 burr grinder.
-
After a couple of days of tinkering, I prepared and tasted the best coffee ever using this machine !
-
Quick setup, easy to use, and provides perfect coffee.
-
Despite being anal about keeping it clean and properly decalcified per the manufacturer's instructions it begins to fail making enough coffee.
-
Not enough pressure to push water though fine ground coffee in the filter
-
the hardest issue I have had is picking the best coffee that creates a good taste for me! wonderful machine when and if this one decides to stop working I will purchase another its a great machine.
-
You will be rewarded with a very fine espresso coffee if you religiously clean the filters and frothing spout, use clean water, and of course, use freshly ground coffee beans.
-
You will spend less time waiting and more time enjoying the coffee you
-
After my second vacation to Italy, I got hooked on their fantastic coffee and brew selections.
-
So the nice new coffee has to run through this stale coffee watercourse and picks up some of the stale flavor.
-
coffee spitting all around... machine filter clogs...
-
The best coffee maker I have purchase.
-
My old espresso machine broke 5 days ago and I have seriously been missing my strong coffee
-
Coffee stains all over it.
-
makes delicious coffee rich and flavorful
-
The coffee is HOT when it comes out
-
i need to add, with an espresso machine, the coffee is always fresh, as opposed to making coffee in the morning and warming up a cup during the day.
-
The coffee you use makes a huge difference, totally worth the extra seven bucks to get illy or similar vs. bad coffee.
-
The coffee that comes out is good.
-
Getting used to it, it makes amazing coffee, but seems to overheat a lot or "need a break" after making 2 double espressos
-
Mr. Coffee” machine and will not waste my time or money purchasing a product from this company again.
-
My favorite coffee here is 2 shots of organic sumatra, 4-6 ounces of frothed grass-fed milk, and 1 tablespoon of organic maple syrup
-
THE WORSE COFFEE MACHINE AND THE WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!
-
I guess a dollar-something a week isn't much to pay for a decent coffee
-
Great coffee machine, compact and easy to use and clean
-
When it does work, it's not bad coffee
-
You have the flexibility of using fresh ground coffee with the included pressurized filters and of course a built-in steam frother
-
Best coffee machine
-
I use this little guy almost every day, so it has already saved me tons of money by keeping me from going to the expensive coffee shops
-
Assuming your Delonghi EC680M DEDICA is in good working order you can have the best coffee at home if you get the critical factor right
-
The coffee you use makes a huge difference, totally worth the extra seven bucks to get illy or similar vs. bad coffee.
-
The ground coffee beans need to packed fairly tightly in order to get even spread of heat and moisture through the filter.
-
I don't really need a more compact coffee machine in a suburban
-
so I had to modify the plastic insert in the Delonghi's portafilter so that it would fit into the portafilter all the way: https://www.amazon.com/MagiDeal-Coffee-Pressurized-Breville-Delonghi/dp/B01JRH3DMS)2) a good coffee tamper (mine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B703BNU)3) a coffee grinder capable of a uniform fine grind (good budget option: the Baratza Encore)4) fresh, quality, coffee beans (ideally from a *local* roaster or coffee shop, if available in your area)5
-
So the nice new coffee has to run through this stale coffee watercourse and picks up some of the stale flavor.
-
I like the coffee that it makes so much that I have bought two of these units over the last 5 years
-
This is our third one of these and whilst it makes good coffee the machine doesn’t last or work well
-
You will be rewarded with a very fine espresso coffee if you religiously clean the filters and frothing spout, use clean water, and of course, use freshly ground coffee beans.
-
If you do it will make delicious coffee and lattes as well as much more expensive models.
-
Not enough pressure to push water though fine ground coffee in the filter
-
Amazing coffee maker, best for the price!
-
Pros: small, easy to use, quiet, makes good coffee
-
Great coffee, great froth, great features and a great design
-
Just make sure to that you use good expresso coffee beans.
-
I use super cheap-o pre-ground decaf coffee and it makes what I consider to be a very tasty cup.
-
I use super cheap-o pre-ground decaf coffee and it makes what I consider to be a very tasty cup.
-
So, after previously owning...like decades back...a very basic, impossible-to-use, cheap-o cappuccino maker, I hesitated purchasing another.
