My experience shows that the home espresso machine does NOT like highly ground FINE coffee

I thought it made a decent coffee until i tried a machine which was more than twice the cost of this

, I almost got a different machine, because I just felt the coffee wasn't strong or flavorful like I would like, but the secret is not even in the coffee or this machine, it is in the grinder

While I can't compare it with other coffee makers, except for one useless machine I bought some years ago, it makes, on average, as good a coffee as I can buy in a coffee house.

Most days it is very frustrating: it wont make the damn coffee

The interchangeable filters are cool but they also mean that you cannot bang the coffee out to clean the filter, you have to scoop out the grinds with a small spoon.

ALSO, always leave an eight of an inch gap at the top of the filter when you're filling the filter with ground coffee beans

the hardest issue I have had is picking the best coffee that creates a good taste for me! wonderful machine when and if this one decides to stop working I will purchase another its a great machine.

It does take a better technique and fresher coffee to get the same nice crema (as there is not the crema enhancing feature of the double wall filters that come with this machine)

Easy to use and understand directions of operation and set up, PLUS has a temperature control so that the coffee doesn't have to come out scalding hot unless you like it like that.

I use super cheap-o pre-ground decaf coffee and it makes what I consider to be a very tasty cup.

Once I focused on ensuring these parts were completely dry before putting the freshly-ground coffee in, the problem has gone away entirely and the product consistently works great.

The flashing yellow light comes on often (requires descaling), but otherwise is a great machine, reasonable operation nose, does not take a lot of space, and makes a nice coffee.

I used it, the coffee essentially worked like a plug and didn't let the water through, resulting in the need to clean it all out and start again.

Everyone loves the coffee this machine makes.

However, if you're going to spend money on fresh roasted coffee beans for your espresso, then you will save money in the long run and get exponentially better coffee by investing in a better grinder

One of my other issues is, after making coffee, and you make milk/froth, you can't make any more coffee unless you bleed the system first

For context, I used to own an Italian-made commercial espresso machine that cost thousands of dollars -- for a business -- and the difference in resultant crema is indistinguishable although I do use distilled water and good espresso coffee.
