Honestly the app is a complete afterthought and nothing ever really works as you intended

I had no trouble installing the app on my iPhone and getting the Heos 1 working

I am also getting used to the app, but I still think the app can be better

The app isn't my favorite a single it sometimes has trouble connecting to the internet/ speakers

The sound is nice, but the app is HORRIBLE and extremely buggy

I would give 5+ stars for sound quality, but the speaker loses a star for forcing you to use the stupid app and not letting the connected aux cable simply be the default input.

The app will lead you to a ton of dead ends and restarts with no alternative instructions given because the developers were clearly too cocky to think their automated setups would ever fail

Without that attachment, you have to use an app, and as other reviewers noted, the app isn't exactly intuitive

The second biggest issue is the app is terrible

Imagine having to re-pair your devices with a clunky app on a daily basis whenever you want to use them

When the HEOS app is working well, the system is easy to use, and due to the streaming over wi-fi, rather than Bluetooth, sounds great.

As all the other reviewers have stated, the app is not user friendly at all.

Speaker would never connect to WiFi even with correct app downloaded, Bluetooth always worked though

Overall I still haven't decided if I am keeping Heos or Sonos, but am currently leaning towards Sonos just because the app is so much easier to use and more reliable, plus the EQ tuning which really can improve the sound

I also read that the app was a little finicky.

App is not as user friendly as it could be, for example, it doesn't allow music libraries to connect, e.g. can't play music purchased from and stored in Amazon Music while listening to music stored in your personal music library.

But the app, functionality, and customer service from Denon is atrocious.
