This is because the tube was rattling around in a too-big cardboard box

One tube was enough to sufficiently install and seal the vent holes for two new units

Caulked 3/4s around the skylight when the tube exploded and sealant leaked out around the cardboard and metal join of the tube.

but when I received it the tube was smashed flat

I have found the product to be very inconsistent tube to tube and purchase to purchase.

I keep a fresh spare tube on hand since it is so inexpensive anyway.

tube leaked glue from end and set up, can not get into "gun". not returnable product

Have bought several tubes of this stuff in the past, and have always been satisfied with the results.

Used about half a tube when I replaced the roof vent and about two tubes across the width of the 8’ wide front roof lap joint

If you have some dried sealant in the spout, and you use too much pressure to get it flowing, it can blow past the seal, and ruin the entire tube

One tube exploded and I couldn't even use it.

The tube is made of cardboard, and is not as durable as the plastic tube you get with most caulking these days

Basically expensive specialty tube of caulking

2 tubes were enough to redo an 8x10' trailer roof.

and now I will have paid $21 for the correct tube.

Unsure if this tube will be usable given the damage caused by Amazon.
