When i had no response from dr through email, i called and was on hold for 45 mins and the representative said the problem was my guitar not their strings

But the brilliance/brightness of a string's tone isn't an objective quality that determines how good the string is

I have been playing guitar for a long time and these strings are really good

These aren't going to sound as good as regular strings.

I love these strings

I tried these DRs for the heck of it and figured the black strings would look cool on my all black guitar...which they did, but that's about all they are good for

The strings that did go on, however, worked well, but on the first play my soft plastic pick was wearing the black coating off of the strings already

I found that the coating wore off badly both where I pick and where the strings meet the frets.

the strings break really fast not good and shouldn't be classified as normal tension

I've been happy with regular DR's, but these strings are a waste of time if you want strings with any brightness.

But if you're playing heavier music, or you have a guitar that naturally sounds bright like I do, or your main priority is playing a comfortable string that won't break or rust after a month of playing, then I heartily recommend them

but they sounded like dull old strings, and the coating started coming off after playing for 20 minutes

They're great strings, but I prefer Labella Strings

A lot of the critical reviews of these strings criticize the strings for sounding "dull" (which is really just another word for "dark")

One string broke after a few hours of playing

While the black strings look really cool on a red Strat, the fact that 1 broke 2 days after putting them on.

These are cool strings

It's a subjective one that determines how good the string is

but, the strings will not play as well for things like finger tapping or keeping the sustain going for as long as you would like.

I've really enjoyed these strings

And they feel even worse....like strings that haven't been changed for years that are always played by someone with grimy, greasy hands
