every guitarist wants a bright tone
-
the strings give a great tone, i will probably get more of these strings some day
-
The E string and the G string both have a decent tone and punch, but the A string and the D string are about as flat and dull as I have ever experienced
-
Nice tone on some of the strings but not all-- inconsistent
-
They hold their tune, they have a nice, sweet tone, and by all rights are a really high quality string
-
If you want a really bright tone, then maybe these aren't the strings for you
-
They sound great with a fuzzy overdrive, they sound great with a warm crunchy distortion and they sound best with a classic scooped out heavy distortion (perfect Black Album tone).Con: I've put them on last night, tried them out for 20 minutes, been noodling for an hour tonight and my G-string is already stripped of the coating (no pun intended), which happens with coated strings but I can see it so clearly with the black coating.
-
They tend to wear off the coating where the playing is roughest but the tone remains and the strings are there to sound good not win a beauty contest.
-
I swear by DR strings and these strings will last longer tone wise than most other strings ive tried.
