Unfortunately your character isn't as memorable as say past Dragon Age games IMO and certain older characters seem to be shoe horned in where it could have easily been anyone else, having some of these older characters show up simply answers the old FAQ

Actually it was hard early on as your character is weak and enemies have curtain level to them.

Your choices are reduced to "Follow" or "Protect" the main character.

The characters that join your team are enjoyable, and I really like the flow.

It has a ton of content, good story, memorable characters, and it's a game I quite enjoy.

All that being said, don't get me wrong, the main game is very good, it has some good varied environments, good characters, a decent main story, solid combat system.

Customization options are endless, characters are bursting with depth, dialogue is engrossing, graphics are breathtaking (minus a few bugs and glitches), and the combat is not only fun but rewarding

Game froze after reallocating character's powers: There is an amulet that may be purchased to reset your character's powers, however, I tried it 3 times and each time I would finish allocating points and go back to the game, it would freeze.
