• Reviews around car (3.48 of 5)

    DriveClub (PlayStation 4)

    • The reason why I became so bored is because the single player portion is just race after race that are all the same, with increasing difficulty, but not because the drivers become better, but because quite quickly the drivers gain access to much better cars than you do, and soon the ability of the player to fight the opposition on the track becomes quite lopsided
    • The cars are too sticky to really drift good, and I found that again getting the first star was easy, but the second was really hard and the third was impossible
    • lots of cool cars & works wonderful with the g29 & shifter for real world experience!
    • It didn't have to be a perfect sim, but it needed to just have some decent cars, tracks, and online play
    • Grippy cars feel like absolute cheat codes on apex - laden courses; high-torque muscle cars and 1000hp hypercars scream down long winding road tracks with a frightening sense of speed, and nimble low-tier compacts and (250-400 hp) sports cars beg for you to take it through its paces on any given circuit
    • You'll drive an extensive list of the hottest cars in the industry
    • The cars look cool, the lighting effects look realistic, right down to your headlights reflecting out of the rearview mirror of the car ahead
    • The cars don't mimic the exact physics of their real life counterparts but instead focus on allowing the player to get in the driver's seat and have a good time without having to worry too much about the nuances of driving a super car
    • Pros:-movement sensor driving (activate this on control options)-awesome graphics-great tracks-beautiful cars-night graphics are beautifulCons:-its hard to change the vehicle color-no extra tuning features-multiplayer servers not working at
    • The best car game I've ever played
    • There is no doubting you will find your favorite cars and least favorite cars and in some cases this can be a very limited number
    • Pure arcade racers don't care about reality, cars stick like glue, damage dosen't matter etc.
    • (it is fun making awesome color combos), but I really love to make cars become enhanced and upgraded and tweaked
    • And who's the genius who came up with the "brilliant" idea of slowing down your car as penalty
    • The cars drive great, only problem they seem to all be like European and there are no classics like Muscle.
    • Steering was clunky, game play was choppy, and the car drove like a pick up truck without power breaks or steering.
    • It doesn't matter how much a "pro virtual racing video game driver" you think you are you'll be shocked at how bad the cars are to drive
    • No, which is funny as in real life almost all cars nowadays understeer (as it adds safety for their unworthy driver who only have the money but not the skills to drive eg a Honda S2000)
    • If you love cars like I do, if you love driving, if you love racing, you will be blown away by Driveclub.
    • Yea many cars can now be found in the DLCs, especially the American cars everyone was so desperate for (myself included), like the Stingray, Viper, Camaro, Charger; yea those can now be had with a DLC
    • but one minor thing i did dislike is the best 10 cars are unlocked by being a "club
    • The cars sound great, really powerful and realistic
    • So, I am left out from a number of cool cars because I cant race in a "club"
    • There are many complaints that the AI is braindead and rams into you, but these complaints are mistaken, the AI does in fact try to avoid you, but unlike most other races which allow AI cars to steer unnaturally fast, the AI in this game is limited by how fast the car can turn, so as long as you aren't cutting off the AI and then hitting the breaks, they won't ram you much
    • But to be able to win races you have to drive a fast car and to do that you have to unlock them by gaining driver levels.
    • Driveclub teaches the player to respect the fundamental attributes of its immense car list
    • I bought it because I love the European cars and gorgeous tracks.
    • Good wise, the game made sure the cars and effects sound amazing and authentic
    • I'm still getting the hang of it, but I wish the CPU cars weren't so merciless, they very rarely make a mistake.
    • The driving physics is a satisfying hybrid of arcade and simulation, although some may not like how challenging it is to handle many of the faster cars
    • Each car runs it's own route and does not deviate from it.
    • If tuning your cars all day (Like I Love) then this may not be for you
    • It's basically what you get when you combine the scenic environments and European Exotic dominated car roster of the 90's Need for Speed games with the detailed in-car camera views and earning-bonus-points-for-driving-with-style gameplay of the long dormant Project Gotham Racing series (in fact, many consider this to be a spiritual successor of sorts to the latter)
    • BUT missing quite a few of the BEST new and classic cars
    • I cant select cars, character.. just nothing. absolutely horrible.
    • The company of DC promise more cars in the future along with Weather condition even thought the game has an option for rain but guess what Not a Drop of Water from The Sky
    • In essence racing sloppily - crashing or bumping other cars, cutting corners, slamming into guard rails or going off track can cost you a penalty
    • But the cars handle bad even with the racing wheel, not very well thought out racing game
    • The only reason so many people complain about the car list is due to the fact that driving the cars provided are so realistic and fun that people can't help imagine being able to drive their favorite car in real life and are upset they cant
    • Car tuning is also missing in this game but the producers said it was made that way to make this enjoyable for the casual gamers who do not understand cars very well
    • U really don't notice it until u get more powerful cars
    • Beautiful grafics, but the handling is just painful, it feels like every car is made for drifiting.the lack of realism on the gameplay just killed this game.
    • However, something else was also evident: the cars in DriveClub look noticeably better than Forza Horizon 2 in terms of model detail, material accuracy, and lighting effects
    • I waited several months to buy it, because all the server errors, but the game is absolutely the best car game for ps4
    • It's unfortunate that there isn't a replay mode to watch your last race and enjoy the beautiful cars and scenery
    • Dont expect a Hyper car to handle all fine and dandy when your going 180+ mph
    • You progressively get faster and faster cars, and this is very intentional, as racing with a car that can go up to 280 mph is very hard to control and requires you to certainly have the learning curve down and race well against tough AI
    • Classic muscle cars (Camaros, Mustangs, Challengers, Chargers, etc.)
    • The free content provided from the rocky launch (free cars, photo-finish tour, and ignition tour) add a lot of value, especially if you're getting a sale price.
    • Nice dynamic weatherDecent graphicsPretty smooth car physicsEnjoyable hours of eventsCons:-The drifting is hardly even considered drifting-Small amount of unmemorable
    • Similarly AI cars will slow down a bit if you get behind too much and generally keep up with you fairly well
    • Barreling through corners and smashing other cars out of the way is the norm in most video games but not in the real world
    • It's very good, the graphics are the best I've EVER seen in a racing game, the physics are perfect, the cars are authentic, the races are fun
    • There are many cars on DC but missing a lot too like Lambos, La Ferrari and so forth
    • Whenever the car I'm driving crashes to the
    • This game is just plain old racing for the challenges of racing and progressing forward to get better cars
    • To me, I love it; my favorites cars are primarily Europeans (I do love my GT-R though), so this doesn't bug me, and plus I assume that in later expansions there will be more cars coming, such as an American Muscle pack, a Japanese car pack, and so
    • I love making cars looks cool via colors and stripes and
    • After months of hard work by Evolution Studios to iron out the ongoing issues that plagued this title upon launch, and a few awesome updates that included free cars, liveries, photo mode and weather update, I decided to give this game a try.
    • There are a number of advantageous races (online and off) where simply choosing the right car makes the difference between a win or a perpetual battle with the rest of the crowd - especially when you've gotten enough of a feel for how a certain car performs
    • While it does currently lack cars from U.S.A and Japan, I believe Evolution will take those complaints to heart and hopefully release them in their free DLC line up
    • Good graphics decent car control
    • is a matter of becoming a better driver and racer, but instead just by continuously gaining experience points to gain levels until you eventually gain newer and better cars to eventually win races
    • While criticisms of the lack of open world, upgradeable cars, and other issues are valid, the great aspects of the game outweighed the negatives for me
    • , I got the game the very first moment was available and haven't been able to play on line, can only customized paint job, nothing else, cars drive all the same, really boring game
    • Fame unlocks more cars
    • beautiful handling cars and colors, simple to understand game
    • so you can learn the tracks in slower cars and still win
    • I am a big fan of European cars but some American cars would be great
    • By the way, when this happens you're slapped with a collision penalty and might as well leave your car and push it, because it makes as much impact as applying the pedal
    • If you are looking for a realistic racing sim with some great cars then I would recommend Project Cars, if you want an easier racing game that is still somewhat realistic, try either the new Need for Speed or for PS3
    • One of the best car games I’ve played
    • The cars handle well and strike a nice balance between arcade and sim-style racing games
    • If you enjoy racing games like the newer installments of Need for Speed and most of the Ridge Racer games, you will truly enjoy this game if you like simulators and truly love cars and like a wide variety to select from, tuning and engine/exterior customization maybe not the game for you
    • The cars all look beautiful, the weather, the sun and lighting effects are all realistic
    • , I'm more burnout revenge style when playing racing games, it takes some time to get use to, the faster cars like to slide around when they should not and makes playing the game a little difficult, I like the racing part, not the slowing down
    • More cars are planned as free and paid DLC.At launch the game is missing some major elements that Evolution Studios has plans to release as free DLC
    • Atrocious Car Handling
    • If you love cars and models, this game is right for you.
    • The brakes on most of the cars available in the few hours that I've played seem to be downright useless and almost always cause you to go careening off into the opposite wall of a corner
    • Also this looks like a whole new game after the weather update, best weather effects I have seen in any game especially the in car
    • He enjoys the fact that this game is a retro arcade type game with great graphics and awesome cars
    • In other words, the lack of actually owning and improving your own car to beat others is always a great feeling, and gives an otherwise sense of accomplishment, progression, and depth to even the most mundane races
    • The cars have no Traction
    • Work on your technique, keep it real and respect the other cars and you will be fine
    • Maybe just random add ons to make cars feel like its yours
    • CheckHave to pay extra to get good cars checkalways start in back or near back of pack checklame weather tricks/traffic to obscure your view and/or inhibit your progress checkput in many unnecessary corners, turns, and chicanes check check checklimited number of tracks piecemealed and reversed to make "hundreds" of "different" tracks checkEVERY other car is faster quicker and handles better than yours checkDont allow/provide a line/lane to pass the other cars and punishes you for touching the other
    • If you are someone who buys a racing game to have fun customizing cars and then races to see how fast it is then this game is not for you
    • I actually question whether the restricted physics model would even allow a more "lugubrious" car such as something with floppy suspension.
    • The game is straight forward: drive beautiful cars fast and with style
    • I was stuck trying to beat the semi-pro race until I got enough points for a better car, so there is some grinding for better cars to beat the single player races
    • youre gonna have to earn the good cars and some of the

    • -Horrible driving mechanics (gta V has better car physics and handling)
    • As I type this, I wonder what happened at Evolution to cause this issue, and what they were doing in the last 11 months beyond making the game look better (I was under the impression they were trying to make the game's social interactions better functioning, but I suppose that is where the rub has occurred in this situation).Lastly, this kind of was touched on the first paragraph, but I am starting to see that this games lack of customization for its cars and lack of a real sense of owning a car and improving said car, as well as progressing over time through buying, trading, and so on cars and whatnot to make yourself a better competitor, is really a large hinderance
    • If you want a meditative experience where you get behind the wheel and in the seat of a beautiful car, and you get to drive it in a place that is at the time you want it and where you want it, and sounds like you're in that
    • The cars are sticky and you can bale out with the e-brake; I like it, but that is totally a personal preference.-
    • Bump a car and get penalized 100
    • The only thing that isn't wrong is the graphics...everything else is...just no...poor car selection...just exotics...not one japanese car...everything is delayed including weather changes online and launch
    • so American cars have no appeal to me), but the AI and mechanics are horrendous
    • Also there will be cars and tracks every month for free, and extra cars if you buy the Season Pass
    • The only cars in Driveclub that handle even remotely decent are front-wheel drive cars and it's only them so get used to them if you buy the game, they're the slowest cars in the game however but they won't bite that often with horrible handling Most of the other cars are atrociously impossible to drive, they handle so bad they aren't worth bothering with
    • A couple of penalties are collision penalty; you hit another car in high speed, and corner penalty; you try to cheat a corner by going off road.
    • 10 cars, handful of tracks, and servers are God awful
    • It feels like the car is glued to the ground but has forward momentum so you can race
    • Because the handling is more arcade-like, that means you gets lots of uneven car body sway and unintentional spinouts coming out of a corner.
    • You can change each car's paint, so you end up racing against some really ugly cars
    • The cars handle well and strike a nice balance between arcade and sim-style racing games
    • Each car is pretty unique and the detail just amazed me
    • the cars are more realistic on Forza and there are crap load of tracks not some fake looking tracks like on DC or DriveSuck
    • Yet it's still not as plain-jane and boring as I found Gran Turismo that restricted you to realistic race tracks and overly accurate physics
    • I try to enjoy it but something boring as you select the car and get in
    • To me, I love it; my favorites cars are primarily Europeans (I do love my GT-R though), so this doesn't bug me, and plus I assume that in later expansions there will be more cars coming, such as an American Muscle pack, a Japanese car pack, and so
