However, the toner works fine with the existing Brother drum unit.

We found out that buying compatible toner cartridges and drum units from respected manufacturers was a wise decision

Replacing the drum is as easy as replacing the toner

HL-L2300D replacement printer and plan to use Brother drums with compatible toners to see if that extends the life of the printer.

(This IS very different from when I sought help before from E-Z ink re error codes - where written instructions provided for my problem solved things "in a jiffy." Big difference when they have to ship you some replacement via regular SLOW shipping!
