I was using a cheap D rechargeable battery and after a week they started to leak.

Great for larger batteries (C, D, 9V) but it can only charge 4 at a time

a NiMH Rayovac (3000mAh) or Energizer (2500mAh) which are both fake D cells and should be illegal.
